Ashley, the man behind Bonnaroo, has now made two references to surprise guests on the farm.
As of 2 hours ago: Ashley Capps þ@ashleycapps Some special bonnaroo treats this year, including surprise guests that we can't even tell you about! Minds will be blown! One week away.
May 24: Ashley Capps þ@ashleycapps @londaro Relax. We've got late night stuff that will blow your mind...and a couple of things we can't tell you about until they happen :-)
What are you guys expecting? Which guests make sense?

I'm starting to think there's a reason it will be a surprise. Like an act that has a festival clause (can only play one festival in the summer) or a radius clause (already played a big show in Nashville area or has an upcoming show in Nashville).
Why else would a festival keep a surprise that is known, under wraps? Especially when tickets aren't quite sold out.
I guess I'll be the first to bite, and suggest looking waaaaay to far into the use of"blow your mind", "mind blowing", "minds will be blown", etc.......
That's what I'm hoping for as well. Would also eliminate the 30 minutes of late night silence.
I guess if it is something late night on the Which Stage, we may hear sound checks the night before (or at the very least, there will be movement on the stage prepping it after/during Radiohead)
Do you guys think that whatever it is will be on the printed schedule when you arrive? Info given out just before the show via mobile and social media? With the Buffet show was that on the schedule/how did they announce that? I hope this entails more than just who will be at the Superjam.
The Buffett show was announced the week of Bonnaroo via the Bonnaroo website (or maybe email newsletter, can't remember). However, it was not on the schedule, because he was just appearing with Ilo & The Coral Reefer Allstars, who were already on the schedule (even though Ilo played like 1 song, and then Jimmy took over the rest of the set)
I'm curious to announcements as well. If the consensus is that they will announce surprises via Twitter then I want to make a Twitter account before Bonnaroo. But if it'll be word of mouth then there doesn't seem like much you can do to find out. Last year I never heard about the parade, I just happened to stumble across it. And Deervana I didn't find out about until I got on here once I got back.

Parade?? What parade!?
I'm also looking into the "mind blowing" use that Capps has had. Does this relate to any band in particular.
I can't see it being a big name, I mean, they haven't sold out yet! It just wouldn't make sense to not announce beforehand if they could sell some more tickets.

The Preservation Hall Jazz Band played a parade around Centeroo.

this is awesome, i love the surprise angle he is playin, where else would this take place, no where but bonnarooooooo. And who cares if they sell out or not, obliviously we keep coming back for more, and if they blow our minds this year, and bonnaroo is the buzz of the music world, then next year everyone will be lining up to get in....

I think that you can still access bonnaroo related twitter via their app. Click on the News & Socialize button and then the header with what looks like the Arch with an umlot over it.
Regardless, surprises via smart phones is dumb. First off, not everyone on the farm has a smart phone. Secondly, running the Twitter, Facebook, and Bonnaroo apps will kill your battery by Friday night.

I'll be keeping an eye on mine!! Then word of mouth will get out. Either way it should be interesting and the rumors will be running rampant.

It's his festival and he wants to sell as many tickets as possible. I wouldn't put too much stock in what Mr. Capps tweets on the subject unless it's a specific band name. He is going to say nothing but great things about what is to come to sell tickets and quiet the Unchained reaction.
That being said, there is a big hole in the lineup on Friday night so I'm hoping for the best and planning for the worst.
Even trying to sell a festival, he wouldn't say there were special guests that can't be announced if there weren't. Now, whether that special guest is just a reference to the SuperJam, a sit in with Phish, or something more, is the better question.

First that comes to mine with minds being blown is the Pixies...
What about the person who had a friend who went to jimmy Fallon live and heard ?uestlove talk about the Adam Yauch tribute.... Are we gonna get a little Mike D and AdRock at super jam???
