Just got an email about Crosby, Stills and Nash playing in Huntsville close to those dates. I would bet alot that they are one of the headliners. Sucks but i bet it will happen. They play Jacksonville, Fl on May 17 then not again till the 21st in South Carolina.
No other 4 day gaps during the entire tour. Sounds like a good possibility.
A Charlotte date got added for 5/19. Not happening.

The rumor going around at the Black Friday ticket sale in Gulf Shores that some Inforoosters went to was Phish/Tom Petty/Muse/Mumford and Sons. In reality I don't think we have any idea.
TAB makes sense in the SCI slot. Fourth billed, 2.5hr set on the second stage.
That's true, and probably more likely. I would prefer something other than TAB, but it's not that big of a deal. I would also prefer a rare or big get for the headliners, but I'm also ok with Petty/Muse/Mumford. I like all of those bands. More than I like RHCP/DMB, and I still had a great time last year. Hopefully we get a cool surprise that hasn't been rumored, but I think we could do a lot worse.

I would also prefer something other than TAB, but at least one major jam act is inevitable. I'm thinking TAB (or a similarly-sized jam band) gets an extended pre-headliner slot, but I've got no clue who gets the other two. I feel like we're getting Big Boi, but I doubt he's a pre-headliner.

I'd rather have Mule than TAB....
Now that the Orange Beach WSP shows aren't happening I guess it could be a possibility that they are at Hangout. Also the possibility that we get the Allman's, which would be Quackking epic on the beach. I think the ABB would be a great headliner as they have name recognition, they are legends, and they put on a huge show with awesome production.

I love jam bands. I just don't like them as headliners. Give me ABB in the SCI spot and sets by Umphrey's McGee, STS9, etc. all day. Especially late nights. But I prefer rock and roll and legends as my headliners. So hopefully we don't get WSP'ed. I actually like them, but if they played they would be headliners, and I would rather that not happen.

Dude, ABB are one of the top 5 acts out there that qualift as "rock n roll legends." ABB doesn't subheadline to anyone man, that is just crazy talk. They did rotating headliner status with WSP in '09, thats about as close to that as you'll ever see.
Anyways, Avett's look pretty likely. They are in Alpharetta on 5/17 with no more dates till NY on 5/24. I would say that makes them a Saturday mainstage subheadliner lock.
I would bank on Old Crow Medicine Show being back too, which is most welcome. If they're gonna get more bluegrass they need the Infamous Stringdusters. I would rather get Avett'd than Mumford'd 10x outta 10.

Also, I hope we get something besides Umphrey's and STS9. The same ol' shizt every year gets old. I dig UM but come on there are other bands out there. I'd rather we get Bisco instead of STS9.

Dude, ABB are one of the top 5 acts out there that qualift as "rock n roll legends." ABB doesn't subheadline to anyone man, that is just crazy talk. They did rotating headliner status with WSP in '09, thats about as close to that as you'll ever see.
We must define "rock and roll legend" differently. (We must also spell "qualify" differently, but that's neither here nor there.) I mean, unless you really love the state fair version of the Beach Boys that was out before they got everybody back together this summer, and see no difference in The Dead and the Grateful Dead. These Allman Bros are not top 5 legends. That's why they headline Wanne and not bigger festivals. These ABB are still good but it's hard to apply top 5 legend status to a band that's made up of half the original guys.
Here's a fun game for you if you're interested. If they are at Hangout and they headline I will buy your ticket. If they are there and don't you have to slap yourself in the face as hard as you can and let me make a gif out of it.

Gregg Allman is a legend. He, Butch, and Jaimoe were inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame in 1995. What are your qualifiers for legend status? lol I'm sorry but ABB would be perfect for closing the festival out.
I'm not agreeing to your stupid bet because I already got my ticket for $50, and secondly, I never said "ABB ARE PLAYING!!!111!!! KANGFIRM'D!!!" I said "they are a possiblity" and that "it would be awesome."
They are a possibility, as is everything right now, since we don't really know shizt at this point.

Damn Silk, you beat me to it! ....and I consider SCI with 2.5hrs at sunset last year the 4th headliner, but either way, ABB would close it...and yes matt, it's not the original, but interplay between Haynes and Trucks can't be topped for god sakes....and Further is by far the best post GD incarnation...and they put on intense, fresh shows.
it's amazing to me that on this thread and 'roo wishlist, all the jam haters. 'roo was built on panic and jam period. 75k of us showed up to the unknown because it was a jam fest and an alternative to coachella, lolla and jazz....they could re-sched the original lineup and sell out in a minute. Now we have people who want f'ing Jay Z and Kanye, and hope Panic doesn't show. I'm not saying they should have stayed 100% jam, (J5 was one of my fav's year one), but it's totally different, in a bad way imo.

F- on reading comprehension.
I've been to every Bonnaroo other than the 2nd one, so it would be silly for me to hate on jam bands. Especially since I like them. All I did was disagree that ABB are a top 5 legendary act. That doesnt mean I don't like them or think they aren't good. Sine you agree with him, who would you two say rounds out the top 5? This will be a fun list.

....let me think....macca, stones, who obviously.....bruce, paul simon, billy joel.......U2 outdraws all of them and has been around 30+ years now......i think abb would fit into the clapton, n young level.........these are not my personal tastes, i'm just trying to think of people who can fill arenas....does anyone do stadiums other than U2 right now?
....i think abb is def top ten "legendary", though they can't mount a massive tour....but, if they hadn't toured for 10 or 20yrs, they prob would.
....forgot to mention H.O.R.D.E. who also got it right back in the day....

Solidrock, if your point wasn't to agree with him and disagree with me why would you start telling me how good ABB is? I didn't say ABB couldn't play, not did I say the current lineup isn't good. Do you generally read until you come to a word you have an opinion on and then give the opinion no matter what the context is like you did with this? If so we are all really excited you're here. Staying on topic is over-rated.
To everyone else who has a conversation and doesn't just talk out loud to themselves, sorry about that. We are about a month out from the lineup reveal. I'm ready to get excited.

Solidrock- You should join the PT boards, and check out the WSP board, tons of cool people, lots of meet ups. I've met like 15 people off of there, all good experiences.
I see what point you're making Matt. As solid said, top 5 legendary acts is way too ambiguous. A 60's Legendary 5 would be Dead, ABB, Neil Young, Macca, Santana.

Hey everyone, first time posting on this subforum, and I'm really hoping I heard this wrong, but...
I spoke with a gentleman recently who works high in an entertainment company, and mentioned they recently purchased multiple music festivals around the country. Two festivals he mentioned were Voodoo and Hangout. He talked at length about how EDM is a main focus of theirs, and will continue to be featured at festivals (no surprise there). But while talking about Hangout, he mentioned going after a different demographic with Kenny Chesney.
There's no way Kenny Chesney would perform at Hangout, would he? His tour dates don't make sense, as he's in Alabama a month prior, and is in Milwaukee May 18. I'm really hoping I heard him wrong, and that he just said that he was working with Kenny Chesney and his people, but not specifically for Hangout. I've never wanted to be more wrong.
