Another confirmation that Stevie Wonder is our third headliner from a solid source. Feel free to think they landed Prince or Daft Punk though. Not trying to poop on your dreams. Just relaying ACTUAL news here.
Eclipse during an eclipse? I never double checked, did that really happen?
Lips are one of my favs and that was one of their best shows I have seen out of the 10 or so I have been to. Think maybe being with 12+ of my closest friends may have helped.
Also in related news, confetti and dancers will be a thing of the past this year.

finally... I'd like to think all of teh shiittalk on the internets about them having the same live show for nearly a decade encouraged them to finally change it up.
So we're going to take a left turn and not do shows like that for a little while.
from the wording of this, it looks as though he wants to jump right back into it as soon they're done touring for new album. I bet they still play do you realize?? every show though.

The Festive Owl conveniently posted this 8 hours after my post yesterday:
Hangout Fest News: Stevie Wonder will be announced as the 3rd and final headliner. It also looks like he will be the festivals closing act.
Then when people called him out on reading it here, they responded:
We got this info from someone we know in the Gulf Shores area. We find it credible and have reason to believe them. Whether you believe it or not is your choice.

Yeah the Daft Punk idea is ridiculous. If they were touring, they'd be at Roo or Coachella. Plus at some point we got news that their new set wouldn't be ready in time for Glastonbury, which is a month after Hangout. Prince makes sense (no rhyme intended), although I tend to believe all the Stevie Wonder info out there, given that we have no info confirming anyone else. I'm at work and don't have a lot of time on here right now, but this weekend a friend told me that the rest of the lineup is supposed to drop Wednesday. Is that the consensus around these parts?

Meh. I don't really imagine Stevie wonder being that great.
Haven't seen him live, but listened to a few of his album a week or so ago when this rumor first dropped. I had forgotten how much I don't care for him.
At least it's the fest closer, Sunday night ill probably be raging mud bugs or something.

Stevie is certainly no Kenny Chesney. Maybe mudbugs will be showing a UFC fight on sunday.

Yeah, because of a humorous login, I am a Kenny chesney fan.
I apologize for not drinking the Stevie wonder koolaid
Went to mud bugs after Saturday nights show last year and there was a decent amount of quality talent in the bar. Sorry for having a good time on a mini-vacation.
hi all first post here! Can anyone direct me to the best place/forum that I can try to find people to take over my condo reservations for Hangout 2013? I'd assume it's this thread, but obviously it's mostly focused on lineup announcements/rumors, so I don't want to step on any toes...thanks!
(In case you are wondering--I've got 2 condos at Tropic Isle West, just a half mile from the venue).

I'm not stoked about the Wonder add either, but he fits Hangout's demo and he'll put on a good show. If I'm not completely exhausted like I was last year, I might stick around. Happy with TP and KoL headlining. There's always next year for Prince....
I'm just hoping for some solid undercard additions and a couple surprises.

EDITS( new world filters are tough to get around)
I do and I mentioned that it would be cool if trey came out and played, but they're playing different days so no telling if that will happen.
I also love it when panic played superstition
Just listening to his album reminded me I'm not in to it as much as I should be for an icon like wonder.
Give him a chance. I was somewhat indifferent at 'roo, and he blow me away. It was funky and soulful, and his band was top notch. I walked away very impressed.
So what undercard bands are you hoping are added? I'd love Tame Impala, Beach House, John Butler Trio, and Alt-J.
Modest Mouse, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Animal Collective, of Montreal, Twin Shadow, and Red Fang is my official semi-realistic wishlist of artists that have no conflicts this weekend. Beach House and John Butler Trio has all of May open so they are also possible. Tame Impala is the best thing that could happen for this fest, but they are playing Perth, WA on saturday so I find it highly unlikely. Alt-J are in London on friday, but then nothing after that until Sasquatch the weekend after hangout (possible for sunday). Death Grips are in Greece on saturday. Sigur Ros is in Japan on friday and south korea sunday so they're out.

I agree with your Modest Mouse and YYY's.... I would trade both of Queens of the Stone Age and/or Lou Reed though.
I'd like to see Dinosaur Jr., Japandroids, DFA1979, The Joy Formidable, Jurassic 5, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Bob Mould, Ty Segall in some form, and hopefully, the Violent Femmes because so far they've only announced Coachella and I would be hoping they'd be doing more than that if they're going to reunite.

Well we don't exactly have confirmations on which days some artists ARE playing, but we can rule out one day they AREN'T playing.
Ellie Goulding, Passion Pit, and Grouplove will all be performing at Atlanta's Party in the Park on Saturday, May 18th. Looks like it's Sun or Fri for them then.
EDIT: Looks like we already knew PP and Grouplove will be on Fri, so all that i've contributed to this thread is that Ellie G will either be on Fri or Sun. Aren't you happy you read this entire post for that?

I am. I'll have an open mind at the fest --- just doesn't look good on paper for me.
also, i know it's a huge pipe dream, but daft punk's site is currently under construction. that would be so ta-tas if they were playing.

Would be awesome, but there's literally no way. Maybe some time down the road friend.

Just checking on the acts I'd like to see added:
Dino Jr. - Nothing between Coachella weekend 2 and Primavera
Japandroids - Nothing in May except Sasquatch! (the weekend after Hangout).
DFA1979 - They have no dates listed at all on their site, but we know they're playing Governor's Ball in June.
Joy Formidable - Play Richmond on 5/11, then have nothing until Orion on June 9th.
Grace Potter - Opens summer tour on 5/31 in Austin supporting the Avetts. Have foreign dates thru the end of March, then only one Grace solo date on April 9th.
Jurassic 5 - Only has Coachella and the Parklife Festival (6/08) listen on their site.
