I don't know why all the korean girls I catch feelings for are over 30 years old.
I met this foxy mama on one of my wednesday night hikes last week. I saw her when the group met up at the beginning of the hike and immediately thought she was out of my league and probably a few years older. So didn't even bother saying hello. A few hours went by and she finally came up to me and started asking me questions like where i was from, how old am i, etc.. She asked for my number and has been chatting me up nonstop on kakau talk (free texting app in korea).
We had a date friday night and have another one tonight. She is 33. I am 25.
I am kind of nervous about this. In korean culture, if you are 30 or older and not married, that usually means that "there is something wrong with you". So single women over 30 tend to be a little cray with younger boys, especially foreigners, looking for hubbies. Commen sense tells me to tread lightly here or to just go ahead and walk away. But she is so fine, and she loves to hike and be active and loves everything i love. She is essentially perfect.... Don't know what to do. So many feels.

Dude, she sounds really cool and right up your alley. Go hiking with her. If nothing else, you've made an awesome friend that can teach you a lot about her culture. And she might but the "foxy mama" to you. Which might take you out of the hiking game for a weekend or so. Giggity giggity... or however the Quack you spell that. Well, don't Korean women age really well so women that are 33 look like they're 25? One of my good friends growing up was Korean and her mom looked like her sister (and still does even though she's in her mid-50's, actually).
Either way, once you hit your mid-20's that age difference isn't as big of a deal. Unless it's like 25 of something, but even then, if she's hot....

And with regards to something being "wrong" with unmarried women over 30 - As one of my heroes, Bridget Jones was once asked, "Why is it there are so many unmarried women in their thirties these days, Bridget?" and she responds, "Suppose it doesn't help that underneath our clothes our entire bodies are covered in scales." Single women who are over 30 aren't scale-covered freaks - we're normal people. And the reason why a 30+ woman is single could be as simple as she WANTS to be. Or as complicated as she gave up 5 years of her late-20s to a dude who never had any intentions of getting married even though he told her he did. There's any multitude of life paths that have brought her to where she is - none of them having to do with her being damaged or "wrong."
There's nothing wrong with a 33 year old hottie who wants to get her some young hot stud. JP, it may be Korean "culture" but it's also 2012. Go for it. She sounds great, and maybe she isn't looking for a young american hubbie. Maybe she just wants to have a good time with you? Maybe she just doesnt want to live by the Korean stereotypes that are LITerallly some of the most antiquated ideas on the GLOBE. THAT makes her even COOLER in my book.

It's my old man schedule!! LOL. On Saturday and Sunday I sleep in till like 7am and then I want to go for a run and clean house and do my Russian homework (I found a new tutor yay!!). These younguns want me out all hours of the night disco clubbing it and wearing tight pants. I'm from the grunge era. I just want to be grizzled in my thrift store jeans and burlap sack of a shirt.
The date tonight went very well. We got dinner, went for a walk, played badminton, drank some beers. She even got me a birthday present. A whole bag of tangerines!
