So I am super pumped for the chance to see Danzig. I'm not such a huge fan of his solo stuff but a Misfits set will be awesome.
Here is the trouble though. Danzig is kind of a stuck up dude. Now this dark rocker will be playing while there is still sunshine. He is known to walk off of stage, be rude to his crowd, and also have temper tantrums.
Does anyone who is a fan think he will make it through the whole set? Or even start it in the first place?
Personally I truly hope he does. I'm worried a Wook will get in the way of it and end up ruing the whole thing for everyone.
Any opinions?

i guarantee he will go on stage late, but besides that i hope there aren't any other problems. him going on late actually helps since i want to see all of mogwai but only want to see the misfits part of his set
He's going on stage after Maynard and before alice Cooper, he better be fucking humbled, I can't wait to see bullet and the rest of the misfits set!!!!

This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
I'm sure Danzig will be fine. I dont believe the sun will bother the "Dark Rocker". It's kinda like saying Alice won't be able to make it up till midnight because he's used to 5:oo am tee times.

I don't think he would be late because he is a dark rocker. Its more like he would be late because he can be a dick, and if he finds out there are other heavy bands he is going to want to feel like the heavy band headliner.

The one time I saw Danzig opening for Ozzy, he was terrible. Like worst thing I've ever seen in concert terrible. This show has Kanye level trainwreck written all over it. I just hope they don't cave to him like they did to Kanye and swap he and Alice's set so he can be the "closer."
And after reading that article, the idea that someone who has taken as many steroids as Glenn has will "only treat colds naturally and won't take a B12 injection" cracks me up.
I'm gonna skip the first half of his set in favor of Mogwai and hopefully catch some Misfits songs at the tail end.
Wow! I must say that seeing some Misfits songs was going to be somewhat of a novelty for me, but after reading this, I think I'll pass. In what alternate universe is Danzig bigger than Slayer?
fuck i can't wait to see some fucking misfits songs live. i do have a bad feeling about danzig being a piece of shit though. and ill be missing the roots for this.
I was at the Fun Fun Fun Fest debacle, it was quite sad.
My girlfriend is a huge Misfits fan, basically the main draw for me to get her to the fest that year. As the start to the set time came and went, you could sense the crowd getting more and more restless. It was quite common to hear people talking about how much of a diva Glenn is, and that this is par for the course. Finally the show started 45-50 minutes late. Of course he knows everyone's there to see the Misfits songs, so they're at the end of the set.
They knocked out 2-3 Misfits songs before he delivered the message that they were going to be cut off. It was quite amusing to see him try and incite the crowd to riot. The crowd had turned on him before he even took the stage, there was no way he was going bring that to fruition. Austin has a very strict (and widely known) curfew for outdoor events such as these, it was no surprise to anyone in the crowd that they were being shut off. Rather then riot, the crowd just turned around, and shuffled out muttering some not so nice things about Glenn.
Later that night, reading on the internet the behind the scenes happenings, all I could do was laugh. I remember them coming on stage and hanging the blue tarps on the side of the stage to block "the frigid wind". It wasn't even cold that night, and we were in the crowd. He was on stage with hot lights shinning down on him.
As for the show itself, I was less then impressed. Now granted, I'm not really a Misfits fan so take this with a grain of salt, but still, it was quite sad from my perspective. Glenn seemed out of breath through a large part of the set and in general, sounded like poop. Even my girlfriend who is a massive Misfits fan was disappointed with everything that went down.
Needless to say, I'll be rocking out to Mogwai during his set. I just hope for the sake of those going that he doesn't pull the same kind of childish stunts.
If you check out this link apparently we aren't the only ones talking about Danzig. I thought his take of the punch was funny. I dunno, clearly shoving a dude out of the way and then not claiming you were cold-cocked seems odd. Not saying it wasn't set up, but it was totally a tense moment.
The Misfits were one of my favorite bands growing up (80's), but if Danzig starts pulling the same crap that he did here at FFFFest then I'm heading straight over to The Roots and not even bothering with it.
It's a real shame that he's such a prima donna.
...
lol@the video of him getting knocked out. I saw that a few years ago and couldn't believe it.
I'll be at most of Mogwai because I don't want to risk Danzig being Danzig. Past set lists have shown that he does all of his Misfits tunes at the end of his set, so I may venture out to catch the last 30 minutes of the set but nothing else.
As has been said, it's a total shame he's a diva about everything. Rock and roll attitude isn't about acting like you're so incredible you can do anything because you wrote a bunch of great songs, it's about the music and stage presence. Hard to have stage presence without being... well... on stage.
I honestly think the Unchained set is only on the schedule as a safeguard against Danzig being Danzig. He may not take the stage at his originally scheduled time, so they can either move him to the Unchained time, or move everything back in the tent to a later time.
Though, I do hope Bonnaroo had at least asked him what set time he would like to at least partially prevent him being upset. I would like to think Bonnaroo offered him a late night set and he chose the set he currently has.
