I can't tell if I like it or not. There are a couple really really good tracks on there, but there are some huge misses.
I have a feeling it will be like Warren Haynes' album from last year for me. At first I wasn't so sure, but by the end it was my favorite album of the year.

Better than I expected. A solidly good album. Tails off after I'm Shaking. I keep hoping for garage Jack, but I guess that is never coming back
edit: It's nice having Jack White back in my life though. It's been a while since the Racs. I could definitely see him ripping off a masterpiece on the next album.
Was hoping to come in here and see what you all were thinking of it so far. Im downloading it now, excited to listen
There's some talk of it in one of the other Jack White threads I think (one in which stage called "Jack White Shows" and the TML thread for Jack). Not a whole lot of talk yet though.
I've only listened to it once through on the itunes stream and liked what I heard. Can't wait to listen to it more.

Jack and Deer Tick should collaborate for some sort of Women hate super group
I'd love that collaboration. For the music. Not because I beat women..........anymore.

dumb. traditional blues and country music has done this for years, with both men and women (Loretta Lynn is one of Jack's influences obviously). Are guys supposed to view her (or Adele, Cat Power, etc.) as an inherently controlling/sexist person because she wrote songs about what they have noticed/dislike about the male species? No.

Wow, I really enjoyed that Freedom at 21 performance. Really can not believe Jack has not been added to Roo. Also, was Colbert holding up a flexi disc and balloon? Ha I have been searching all over for those here in Manchester.

Going solo apparently suits Jack White well. The former White Stripe and Raconteur is poised to score his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 next week with his first solo album, “Blunderbuss.”
That means Lionel Richie’s two-week run at No. 1 with “Tuskegee” ends, but Richie only slips to No. 3, with Adele’s “21” rising 3-2, according to Hits Daily Double.
White is one of four likely new titles in the top 10: Country singer Lee Brice’s “Hard 2 Love” is in a dead heat for No. 6, vying with Jason Mraz’s “Love is a Four-Letter Word” and fellow country artist Kip Moore’s “Up All Night.” With two days left until the chart closes, they are all slated to sell between 35,000-40,000. The last new entry will be The Wanted’s self-titled EP at No. 10.
For those aware of album titles, Moore’s entry means that there will be two albums in the Top 10 next week with the same title: Moore’s set and One Direction’s “Up All Night,” which will probably be No. 4.
Rounding out the top 10, Nicki Minaj’s former No. 1, “ Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” will be at No. 5 and Gotye’s “Making Mirrors” at No. 9.

I think Buzz is the only one who could get him to answer questions like this,
ALDRIN: I know that you had a long period of success with The White Stripes. Why did you break up that band?
WHITE: That's uh . . . That's a good question. [laughs] I ask myself that all the time. Sometimes things last for a finite period, and I just didn't feel like it was the right thing to keep playing anymore, so we had to put a stop to it. But also, I didn't want to go out and make solo records if The White Stripes still existed. I thought that people would be too confused by the two ideas and a lot of people wouldn't be able to get their head around it. So, in a sense, it was something that was bound to happen one day. But I'm sad about it all the time.
ALDRIN: Who is this lady called Meg?
WHITE: I ask myself that question all the time as well. [White and Ehrlich laugh]
