In 2011 when I camped at Coachella, it didn't seem like there was too much going on. However, I got there earlier in 2012 and was more centrally located, right next to Lot 10. Thursday was the best. DJ's till late in the evening and a silent disco. Food vendors were up by Thursday afternoon/evening and we had fun exploring. Definitely recommend checking out Thursday, Lot 10 in camping to everyone.
And then Friday-Sunday there was the pinball tournament, dodgeball, art & crafts stuff, etc. Sounds like 'Roo has more ('13 is my first year at 'Roo), but I didn't feel like anything was lacking at Coachella.

Going to try to catch Franz Ferdinand 4/18 at Pappy and Harriets Pioneertown Palace. A little roudhouse BBQ with an outdoor stage in a town of population like 50. About 30-40 drive from Coachella grounds.
Do any artists have new albums, tracks, or mixtapes of note? The small print artists in particular. I did a fair amount of research when the lineup first came out, but I don't want to miss anything new.
I've heard HTDA, Phoenix, Foals, Nick Cave and Johnny Marr. Pretty sure Tegan and Sara have a new one I don't care about. Finally listening to the new James Blake now. What else?
Do that drive during the night its insane. I have no idea what way we took but we were winding around some pretty insane very dark desert mountains and I feared for my life. We stopped at some gas station and there was a really old little woman and a native american man just standing inside. I seriously thought I went through a portal and was in a different world, I could blame that on the brownies from Colorado though as well..
Such an insane ride. Dont party too hard in Vegas.
I have 2 wristbands for Weekend 2 I'd like to sell to someone on here at face value, if there's any interest. I doubled up and got tickets to both weekends during the presale, but I can't make both weekends. Feel free to pm me if you'd like them.
There's no way How to Destroy Angels doesn't close a stage or tent right? I'm already pretty upset about the conflicts that will create.
What with these recent quotes about how the HTDA stage setup is going to be difficult to move and more akin to an art installation than a music performance, yeah, I think they're either closing the Outdoor or the Mojave or something.
