All the bros in Southern Cal are probably losing their shit bc there's no "bangers" on the lineup. Once they find out Skrillex is part of Dog Blood they'll be happy again...
Headliners aside (although Blur is an awesome get), this lineup is ridiculously deep, like almost Glastonbury deep. Shouldn't have put RHCP on Sunday, though.

Also, anybody spot The Evens? Kind of surprised they're doing something as commercial as Coachella when first of all, it's Ian MacKaye, and second, the band tries to perform at weird, small venues. You'll be in for a great show if you go, though
(1) Damon Albarn (2) Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (3) King Khan & His Shrines (4) Ty Segall (5) Ms Lauryn Hill (6) Darkside (7) Kanye (8) Janelle Monae (9) Goat (10) Meshuggah.

This is an honest question--for those who are showing a lot of disappointment, what were you realistically expecting in terms of headliners? Of course Daft Punk were never going to play, Rolling Stones we knew were out, big names like Macca and Prince probably weren't going to be back after four years. I'm just not sure what everyone thought would show up.
I'm really glad I didn't buy a pre-sale ticket because if I end up going I have a feeling they'll be some deals on the secondary ticket market...I don't see them being able to push over 150k passes (counting both weekends) for this.

I think I am the only one that likes the lineup...but I love RHCP, while everybody else hates them. Could never go to this since its across the country, and during the last month of school.

QOTSA wasn't necessarily a headliner but was a big rock show I would have loved, The Knife, maybe Pearl Jam, NYCH was available. I dunno. Sunday night is terrible IMO. I'll probably see Nick Cave, but since I'll have just seen Grinderman it's not the biggest treat in the world.
DAMN I REALLY should have taken up bets with Jugs and karosko.
What? Did you miss the part where Blur is headlining?
My post was saying that Blur wouldn't be #1, but that they could be on the top line. That's what I assumed your bet was (if they'd be #1 or not). I know Jugs' was.
But regardless, this is a great lineup with weak headliners by Coach's normal standards. I'd love to see Franz Ferdinand, Band of Horses, Violet Femmes, Vampire Weekend, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and The Stone Roses would actually be amazing.
My main issue is RHCP. I actually don't hate them at all (saw 'em twice last year), but it's an incredibly uninspired choice. I mean, they literally headlined ALL of Coach's main competitors last year (Roo, Lolla, ACL), and have pretty much played everywhere by now. I'm gonna guess these are the last shows of their world tour. I also think they're the result of The Rolling Stones dropping out.
But none of this really matters since I'm not going.

I really like Friday, but that's because I'm an enormous Stone Roses and Blur fan. Stones Roses' self titled album is probably one of my top three favorite albums of all time, if not favorite. That said, I hope they play another U.S. show other than Coachella so I get a chance to see them a little closer to Ohio.
The undercard is nice but I'm afraid of conflicts. Like Saturday night for example. I'm bound to run into a conflict between Phoenix, xx, Postal Service, Hot Chip, Sigur Ros, Violent Femmes, Franz Ferdinand. Basically the majority of the top line stuff I'd actually be most excited for.
Oh and at least they booked James Blake FINALLY.
