Man, Im not sure if a 3rd weekend is possible. Are they THAT big that they can keep 100+ bands touring on the west coast for 3 weeks striaght?
It wouldn't work in my opinion.
I'm guessing it's either a new location, a new stage, some sort of partnership announcement for 2013, another presale or the actual on-sale (which seems way to early). Possibly All Points West like r mentioned or perhaps a new festival entirely (west coast EDM festival maybe to fill the void left by EDC). It'll probably just end up being not much at all. But I'm currently captivated and even though I'd intended on skipping this year, it's only July and they're reeling me back in. quackers.

They've already sold a ton of tickets for the six days of music that they've been planning for a while now. It would be a logistical nightmare to try and add another day/weekend at this point.
^A new event indeed. This sounds intriguing. GV would offer a cruise lineup like none before. I was actually skipping Chella 13 to go on a cruise this summer but it looks like I'll have the opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.

The bar has been set pretty low in the Music Cruise market for GV. When I hear about Rock Boats, I think Poison, Kid Rock, or mediocre somewhat current acts.
I can't see Thom Yorke sentencing himself for a week alone at sea with a bunch of festies. Perhaps they are going out of Miami so they can fly the larger acts in for their appearances.

I think of Jamcruise and caribbean holidaze which are both full of great artists.
Also, I thought I read somewhere that this may be EDM focused but I may be mistaken.
The south, midwest & east coast get sooooooooo many festival goodies! Coachella is the only fest worth a damn that I don't need to fly to.
So quack sharing! Send some fests my way and maybe we can work something out.
FYF fest?
The almost constant touring of every band you could want to see ever in Southern California?
No snow ever?
FYF is pretty OK. I'd go if I was in town.
Not many bands make their way down to SD, most stop in LA and if that happens on a week night I generally can't do it. Not because it's too late, I will sacrifice sleep for music any day of the week. But the drive up is too long to make it possible. Drive up ~5 hours, drive home ~2 hours.

It just sucks to expect something really exciting and Coachella related and then to get something across the country I can't even dream of going to instead.

Hadn't heard of holidaze before, but an EDM cruise would be fun, if not "end up on Dateline NBC dangerous....
I get the rockboat style updates/posts on FB from my friends pretty religiously. That's now what I think of when I hear the term music cruise.

Both voyages leave from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., with a three-day tour going to the Bahamas on Dec. 16 and a four-day journey to Jamaica starting on Dec. 19. For fans willing to pile four to a cabin — the closest thing to camping when it comes to high-seas travel — prices start at $500 a person and there are nine other price levels, going up to $9,000 a person for a “sky suite” with veranda.
Prices include lodging, food and entertainment, but not transportation to Florida or bar tabs.
