That was not a squib kick. He might have thought that's what he was doing, but he did an onsides kick. Squib kicks go about eye-level past the first line of the kick return team, not hitting them in the shins.
We'll see. This is the same team that was crushed 42-13 by Seattle just weeks ago.
Yes. And that's why we were rooting for ATL -- that and who wants to see a whole city commit suicide after another heartbreaking playoff loss.
I was close to being suicidal. After that shitpunt, I knew Wilson was about to march down the field again since he had been shitting on the defense the whole second half. Luckily, there was enough time for Matt Ryan to Matt Ryan. People can say whatever they want about the 0-3 playoff record but Matt Ryan is insane under pressure (22 game winning drives). He didn't have a great game but he performed when he needed to the most.
Pretty pathetic that my greatest feeling as an Atlanta fan (was too young to really appreciate 95 WS or upsetting the Vikings in 98) came from that FG. Went from confident that the game was over > enraged > being on the verge of tears/suicidal > flipping my shit and destroying my apartment.
I'm confident Mike Nolan will come up with something to slow Kaepernick down. Atlanta has faced versatile QBs throughout the year (Wilson, Cam x2, RGIII). It won't be a blowout.
Seattle has a SB coming. They are going to be great for years to come with all the draft picks/signings they have hit on.
Honestly, even though I know that Atlanta is our real rival, I tend to dislike Carolina even more. I never had much of a problem with the Falcons until they actually won so many games this year while we didn't have our coaches (out of jealousy) and when we got our bus egged (which I know doesn't represent all Falcons fans as a whole). At least Atlanta doesn't have Steve Smith or Cam Newton playing for them. All Saints fans hate Steve Smith, and we tend to view Cam worse by the game. Its tough to respect someone who does his Superman move when he is losing by double digits. Smith just likes to instigate

So Kelly one upped Kiffin in the dickhole department. He not only gave them the whole "I'm staying at Oregon" speech. He leaves them two and a half weeks before signing day. What a jerkoff.

People are up in arms that the Browns didn't get him. I'm not on that train, I was against him from minute one. His actions the last two years are proof enough to his character, and god only know how shady the Oregon program is, definitely guessing it's worse than trading memorabilia for tats. The one joy out of this is that it's turning people off against Joe Banner in waves.

Haha am not, but I did learn a lot about the business of football by reading/analyzing his player contracts.
Sounds like the Jets are hiring Idzik from Seattle to be the GM. I wanted Omar Khan from Pitt, but Idzik seems like another bright football mind and he's coming from a good front office. If he's the hire, I'm okay with it.

I know college coaches still get paid if they are fired and not rehired somewhere else. It should work the other way around also. If a coach is hired somehwere else, while still under contract, either he, or the new employer, should pick up the tab, or at least a fraction of it.

Why don't these schools put poison pills in their contracts? Like "If you leave early to go to the NFL you or your new employer pays us X."
Is that not legal? I know they do it in NFL player offer sheets.
Wasn't the word that Bill O'Brien had a 9m buyout to leave Penn State?
I seem to remember the rumor being that O' Brien pumped up the Penn St pride angle in him staying, but the reality was that his buyout was ginormous and nobody wanted to pay it.

He was definitely listening to opportunities, but he wasn't aggressively pursing any. He feels a responsibility to the kids that stuck it out. The rumored buyout didn't help his cause.

He's an NFL guy, so I don't know why anyone should be surprised that he would listen to NFL offers. He'll probably return to the NFL when the right head coaching job opens up if he is successful at Penn St, but he's not going after one year and zero championships.
Adam Schefter @adamschefter Browns hired Michael Lombardi as GM.
Season tickets are sold.... I'm done. LOMBARDI??? He's not even the best evaluator on HIS TV NETWORK.... 5 years out of the league, has NEVER been rehired in a league that's BASED upon relationships. What a joke. What do you expect when you have a CPA running the team for the Lot Lizzard Pimp owner

Flanz, how much do you think Keller will fetch on the open market? Giants could use a guy like him.
It depends. He's probably going to look for a deal similar to what Zach Miller got from Seattle in 2011 (5 years/$34 mil, $17 mil guaranteed. Oddly enough, the Jets just hired the guy who approved that contract, so if he thinks the deal was worth it, he may give Keller that sort of contract, but I hope not.
