As for Marky Mark? He takes 4 sacks, but only 1 INT. He sails 5 passes at least 5 feet over the receivers head on third down, though. I wish I could bet on such things.

I 100% saw yesterday coming, right down to the fact that Beastmode would average under 4 ypc well into the 3rd quarter, until the defense tires out from being on the field all game and he runs over exhausted LBs for the entire 4th quarter (wasn't made here, but on another blog I post on).
Jets did everything they needed to do yesterday, except have a good QB. Being down 14-7 in that game, in that environment, with THAT QB was impressive, to be honest.
Out of the 11 drives by the Jets' offense, 3 went for more than 5 plays. And they were outscored by their own defense. GOOD TIMES!

Maybe they will, but not after the Brian Schottenheimer-led vaunted Rams offense gets to stick it to the team that blasted Schotty publicly, fired him, and then dragged his name through pig sh*t.
I don't understand why Fisher called timeout witha minute left inside the 9ers 10 yard line. That's what kept them from winning.
Settling for the 53 yard field goal in OT (yes I know he made it sans Delay of Game) by running on 3rd down was pretty weak too. Weird that he was unnecessarily aggressive with the first half fake punt, brilliantly aggressive with the second half fake punt, passive on that missed-FG drive, then stupidly was throwing on 3rd and long inside their own 20 with less than 1 minute left in OT. I know they were 3-5 or whatever and probably don't want to settle for a tie, but they way increased their chances of losing by going for it at the end like that.
I also dislike John Harbaugh more and more with each passing week. Still can't get myself to root for Pete Carroll over him, though.
This is never, ever, everrrrrrrrrrr talked about (probably because it's the Jets), but Peyton was all set to be the #1 overall selection in 1996. The Jets had the #1 overall pick and since Peyton didn't want to play for the Jets he went back for his final year of school. People say it was to chase a title or some BS, but it was because he didn't like the team that was going to select him. He also did the same thing the following year to the Rams.
Andrew Luck did the same thing. He didn't want to play for the Panthers, so he stayed in school. I don't really see that as a prickish move. Its a smart decision, if anything, and well within your rights to consider that in your decision making process. But to outright say "No, I will not play for the team that drafted me" is borderline disgusting.

And hey, this is great - the 49ers now finally have a halfway decent QB. My hopes and dreams were that they'd keep thinking they could win a championship with Alex Smith. Fack.

This isn't entirely accurate.
Pats fans hate him for letting Curtis Martin walk and go to the Jets, which is a very real reason to hate the guy since the Jets (even before the Brady-era) had a good rivalry going stemming from the Parcells move. Carrol didn't feel his team needed Curtis (edit for clarification: felt that Curtis wasn't worth the trouble the poison-pill contract would have caused), so he let him walk and took the picks (1st and 3rd rounder in 1998, which he used to draft a FB/HB combo that did absolutely nothing for the Pats). So, they hate Carrol for taking a Super Bowl team and turning into the laughingstock it was until Mo Lewis impaled Bledsoe's spleen.
Jets fans hate him because he sucked, and not just his season. Bruce Coslet had taken the late-80's/early-90's doormat Jets and made them competitive (8-8 in 1993 with some unlucky injuries). Carrol took that team, flipped the roster upside down and shook it, then had a horrible 6-10 season before handing a depleted and inexperienced roster to the overmatched Rich Kotite (he of the 1-15 season record fame). The only positive from Carrol's lone season was drafting Aaron Glenn.
The Pats fan has a more legitimate reason to hate him, but they also hate him more (generally speaking). Jets fans just throw him on the giant garbage heap of bad coaches with all the rest, and maybe give him a nice kick as they walk by for coaching the Pats.

Well, I love him because he gave me BeastQuake and the absolute terror that is the 2012-13 Seattle Seahawks defense. Every time I watch Richard Sherman demolish an undersized slot receiver, or see Kam Chancellor hit someone so hard that they have to sit on the bench, or witness a QB poop in terror because Bruce Irvin is coming towards him at 1000 miles per hour, I thank God that he was crooked as f*ck at USC and had to run for the hills. Ugh it just keeps getting worse and worse. The Jets front office needs to admit that their team needs a complete overhaul. This team (on and off the field) needs to look completely different next year.
Oh, and locking up Revis for a long time and not going through that bullsh*t for once would be nice too.
born and raised in cleveland. tribe & cavs fan for life. when i was a kid and first got into football ('97) there was no browns so i became an eagles fan. i'm still a clevelander for life so when the browns came back i started to root for them too. will love both teams till i die
