Cowboys will be in last place in the East for the rest of the season. Let the unraveling's, firings, and reshuffling's begin. Time for an overhaul.
Any other GM with Jerry Jones lack of success over the last 17 years would have been gone long ago. He still uses the championships he won early on with the team Jimmy helped build as credential.
I was a kid when we were a "championship" team and you're right, it's as if he's still riding the wave of the dynasty. What a joke. I'm sick and tired of disappointing seasons. Especially when they won't make any key changes. Year after year we draft 5 outside linebackers and then try to fill in the blanks of our poor offensive line with leftovers from other teams. We have a qb who is far to inconsistent and have not drafted a quality running back since Emmit Smith. This team has too many problems to fix anytime soon. I'm really tired of them "acting" like contenders but playing like chumps.
edit: I'll consider Demarco Murray a quality player if he gives us at least two quality years of running the football. Julius Jones and Felix Jones had a couple of good games and we got stuck with them and their true colors were shown. Hopefully Murray doesn't follow suit.
Also Dez is a quacking dumbass.

A friend of mine I played high school FB with played safety for you guys for a few years PMO, Danieal Manning. Lovey was from a town somewhat close to me so I guess he's got East Texas well covered. Think Danieal is with the Texans now though.
Yeah. Manning was a decent safety and really good return man for us. He had his fair share of big plays while he was here in Chicago. That's pretty cool that you personally knew him. Yes, he is on the Texans.

Yeah he's a good, humble guy. He comes back and does our camps for us in the summer (also David Hawthorne for the Saints and Luis Vasquez for the Chargers all played with us. We had one hell of a high school team lol). Pretty sure Danieal's first pick was off of Brett Favre. I was always proud of him for that.
Too bad Demarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer aren't better swimmers. The puddle of drool from Eli's mouth made things impossible for us.
The 'Boys problems all start at the top. I doubt that you will find happiness until Jerry kicks off. That team is an assortment of individual stars and some crazy glue.

Dave you have no right to even bring that up. First off, you are a UT fan, I know you did not forget about that? Second, I already conceded to them in the College Football thread, where College Football smack talk happens, which happens to bring up the third. You are in the NFL thread. Why you talking college football smack in here? Nice try though. But to answer your question, I am not trying to forget that loss. I want our players to remember it, remember it for a long time! My jab at Flaz, is because he was bragging about sweeping us Phins last week, so I had to remind him of that comment.
NFL owners know that selling seats is best done by winning, Brady Quinn hasn't won a game since 2009, everyone knows he's a steaming pile of sh*t, including Chiefs fans.

I used to think that Quinn was the worst QB i'd ever seen, but then I remembered Doug Peterson, and Colt McCoy came to town with Phil Niekro as his pitching coach...

shiz, take away all the turnovers and the Chiefs could be 2-7.
Just take away Romeo Crennel
EDIT: Quacker, I'd like to get your take on the team if you will indulge me. I actually "own" Jamaal Charles and Dwayne Bowe in some of my fantasy leagues because my friends here on the east coast don't give them enough respect (fine by me).
How can you possibly bench Matt Cassell for Brady Quinn??
Benching Cassell for Quinn is stupid but the Chiefs seem to have no shortage in stupidity. Having Charles is tough because even though he is a solid RB the Chiefs always end up playing catch-up which takes him out of the game. My summation on the Chiefs:
1) it is near impossible to be a winner nowadays without a decent passing game. 2) you can't have a passing game without talented receivers 3) Bowe is a talented receiver but you need more than one 4) McClusterf*ck is not talented in any way 5) Romeo Crennel seems to make the worst personnel decisions possible
Hey now, McCluster would get 75-80 catches on a team with a good QB, he's become a very solid slot man.
Baldwin/Breaston are no slouches, either. If you took an elite QB and put him on the Chiefs that offense would be scary, assuming their OL would keep that good QB from being killed (which is a coin toss, at this point).
The issue isn't the skill around the QB, it's the QB. And the coaching, good god is it the coaching.

IMO McCluster is awful. He drops/tips more than he catches and Breston/Baldwin are not talented enough to be a #2 behind Bowe. Cassel put up decent numbers when he had a solid receiving corp. I have to agree with you about the coaching and OL though so maybe the Chiefs passing problems are attuned to that.

Baldwin/Breaston could definitely combine for a solid (if unspectacular) #2 spot opposite Bowe if they had a QB on a Philip Rivers-level (not elite, but above average). I just think people (like with the Jets) vastly underrate how much a good QB lifts players around him vs. how much a bad player makes his teammates worse. This is especially true for inconsistent QBs like Cassel and Sanchez, where one pass being good has literally nothing to do with how the next pass looks. Guys like that are almost rhythm-proof and just can't help throwing a terrible pass at random.

Does this mean you are not a fan of Quinn QBing in the water? Why else would they bench him? Either way it does not matter who the Quarterback is, if you can not block and control the line of scrimmage, you are gonna turn the ball over and you are gonna lose. We can say the QB is no good or the receivers are no good, but if the OL is no good, who and how good or not good your skill positions are becomes meaningless. Blocking goes back to coaching, if coaching is off than Game Over. I think a great WR makes a good QB better as does a great QB make the WR better. They do not both have to be great to win, as long as the one can compensate for the other. I guess a great QB would be more valuable, seeing their are less QB than WR in the NFL or maybe for the leader position they are in, but then again anyone can lead if you are scoring points. Either way, give me a great OL and a mediocore QB, WR, RB and we will score points. KC needs to block.
