Chuck Berry when it comes to influence isn't above EWF or Journey.
I appreciate you setting this up and I understand that musical taste is subjective. But as much as anyone, Chuck Berry invented Rock 'n Roll.
Woooow, what a major typo . I meant the opposite. Obviously Chuck Berry is more influential. I dunno what the hell went wrong when I typed it. I would give myself a Monday for that if I could. . Thanks for pointing that out billypilgrim. Seriously Johnny B Goode and Maybelline are top notch singles and who can forget "My Ding Aling"
Sorry for delaying this thread folks. I got caught up working a part-time job on top of my current job along with my life. Now that the part-time job is done, I can now get this bracket going again and check back in Inforoo. Also be sure to also vote in Sang's "All Time Bonnaroo" bracket.
The Second Round (voting ends 10:00 am Monday)
BONNAROO REGION 16. Chuck Berry 9. Radiohead
4. Aretha Franklin 5. Creedence Clearwater Revival
We may not have alot of votes here but I appreciate everybody who has been involved. I like the input you all have put in here and has been fun to track this as a music fan. I have been surprised by the success of Radiohead since they are a modern band who is in the mix with some heavy hitters of music history. I look forward to how this shapes up, and know I present your
8.Radiohead 7. Pink Floyd (IMO The undisputed top two when it comes to experimental rock. There can be only one)
1.Bob Dylan 2.The Grateful Dead (The icon vs the legendary multi-genre jam band)
1. The Rolling Stones 11. Jimi Hendrix (Two legends of blues inspired rock.Who's king?)
1. The Beatles 2. Led Zeppelin (Two of the most influential bands in history. Will it be the elite pop/rock melodies of The Beatles or the groundbreaking hard rock/heavy riffs of Led Zeppelin)
With regard to Radiohead doing surprisingly well, I think it helped that they went up against BY FAR the weakest 1 seed in the second round. I really don't think they'd have beaten The Beatles, Stones, or Dylan. At least I hope not.
