Easily Beach Boys for At the Drive-In.
Not so easily, but I would enjoy: Though I enjoy RHCP, I would trade them for ole John Frusciante solo stuff. The Shins for Broken Bells (or just add Danger Mouse and have them duo) The Entrance Band because they rock your socks off x10
Not sure why so many want to get rid of Foster the People, other than they are tired of their hit song. Their album is extremely solid, though.

And oh yes, Danzig for A Perfect Circle
And Skrillex for Washed Out
And Spectrum Road for The Polyphonic Spree
And Ben Folds Five for Sufjan Stevens
And Flying Lotus for Bonobo
And Mac Miller for Flobots
And Ludacris for Pixies/Sonic Youth, not because it's an even trade, but just because I would. Sadly the latter bands are more on their game than poor old Ludawuss.

Do bands lose points for being on the radio now? This seems to be the fallacious argument type reductio ad hipsterum.
First, this observation is about a decade too late. Second, he said he truly enjoyed Gotye, a "radio" artist. So the answer to your question is no.
Does the question lose relevancy because it is has been around for some time? He said that he enjoys Gotye, but he also spoke of "radio" music as something to be looked down upon. Just asking questions. I don't get the point of caring if something is known or not. Does the inherent sound of the music change if a swarm of 14 year old girls suddenly love the band?
Wanted to jump back on this thread... for really no other reason than to tell you people to SuckItEasy right quick and say I want Muse playing 'roo... So we'll just subtract the "Make ya wanna slit ya wrist Radiohead scum" (quotes because i don't actually think they make you want to do that) and we'll just slide Muse in there. Also, we should just take Yelawolf and well, just throw him and Mac Miller in one of the yuppie kids' RVs and let them B List Celeb Death Match it out and the winner can play 1 song, and 1 song only at Bonnaroo before he becomes a sacrificial offering to the Wookies.
