I just got my juicyvapor fluids. They seem to make my throat dry compared to others I have tried. From what i have tryed Cosmic Fog (gummy cola) and Space Jam (omega) have really mouthwatering, flavorful liquids that mask that glycerin/metallic taste perfectly. Ive noticed the online shipments I received from volcanoecigs & juicyvapor are in plastic bottles and seem to be dry, while the glass bottles with droppers in them over the counter are the best IMO.
Edit: Also the glass bottles seem to have a thicker liquid and more vapor. I know juicyvapor has 2 "grades?" of liquid and a 50/50 blend. Im not sure what that pertains to and may have just got a different type of liquid.
The thicker juices have more VG (vegetable glycerin) in them, that produces more "smoke" on exhalation. I preferred the thicker juices because vegetable glycerin seemed more natural to me and I liked the extra smoke. Some ppl can't use VG heavy juices because of the system they use. It sounds like you may want to get blends that have a higher % of VG. Remember vaping requires you to be very well hydrated. Even if you're vaping a VG heavy blend or 100% VG, it will dehydrate your body.

I'm so proud of all of you! I cold turkeyed about a year and a half ago - you can do it!
My quitting strategy was extremely morbid, but it worked. I think I'm gonna put a spoiler tag on it just because it involves thinking about things that are really uncomfortable to think about, so depending on your current frame of mind right now you might not want to read it.
Anywho, every time I would smoke, I would literally imagine myself in a hospital bed, surrounded by my loved ones. I would close my eyes and picture myself weak and frail, with my parents, siblings, and friends all around me. I imagined saying goodbye for the last time, knowing I wouldn't make it through the night. I would see their tearful eyes. I would imagine them at my funeral. I would feel their pain. I purposely dove into these negative emotions, and made it as uncomfortable for myself as possible.
I made it a habit of thinking about this every time I smoked. Even if I was smoking socially, it would still be in the back of my mind. The company I'm enjoying right now? That's what I'd be losing. Nicotine enhances state-dependent memory, so before long, I was unable to smoke WITHOUT thinking about these things. Soon smoking just became an incredibly unpleasant experience for me, which made quitting very easy.
A lot of people want to quit smoking because they know it's bad for them, but the experience of smoking is still enjoyable and the experience of quitting is uncomfortable, which makes it hard to quit. But when you flip those around, and smoking becomes unpleasant, quitting becomes the lesser of two evils.
Even though we might know why smoking is bad, we tend to imagine our future selves as someone else - so we don't feel the weight of the consequences of our current actions. But by visualizing those consequences and allowing myself to really feel what I'm doing to myself instead of avoiding uncomfortable truths, the motivation to quit became much more tangible. Some might consider this dramatic, but I consider choosing whether or not to smoke a single cigarette to be a life-or-death decision. When I smoke, I'm taking my mortality into my hands, and I'm responsible for that. It's not as much about kicking the habit or never smoking again - thinking about things in such a long span of time wasn't helpful for me. It's about not smoking this cigarette right now. Can I choose not to do that?
Yes, I can.
I'm a bit of an odd duck, and I know my way of viewing things might not be the best route for everyone, but I don't like to avoid harsh realities, so facing them head-on worked for me.
And I realize this post was heavy and a bit of a downer, especially if you read the spoiler, so here's a picture of two happy huskies:

Nice. Thanks for the info. I was completely in the dark with picking which blend to get. I wasnt sure what way to go on the scale but it seems like im a fan of the VG. There is clearly more vapor from the ones I enjoy.
There is definitely a dehydration factor while vaping. Its noticeable within the first few days. I always drink mainly water, but after a month of vaping I always keep a water bottle at my desk at work and on my bedside.

Yesterday marked 1 month since I quit! I've been vaping but not that often. I went to the vape shop and figured out some ins and outs of the pens I was using and why I was having trouble. Got new parts for when they tasted burnt, bought liquids and all that came to 45 dollars. It's been 3 weeks and I still have plenty of supplies to last for another week or so. That means I've saved 129 dollars and hopefully some of my lungs too.
We are saving for some expenses but once we get those taken care of I'm buying a bottle of nice perfume. It's amazing how much better things smell now and how I can smell a smoker from a mile away.
PS Thanks for the liquid you sent SilentEyedStorm. They were great, where did those come from?
Honestly, these e-cigs, really feel like cheating. I don't really think I've quit anything. I've just replaced it. I tried smoking a cigarette the other day, and it felt like the first cigarette I ever smoked, taste, head rush, queezy stomachs. I hated it. So bizarre. I had to smoke a real cigarette to kinda pinch myself. To see if what I was doing was I fact different, because besides the smell and taste, I really didn't realize the difference. The transition from real smokes to e cigs was just instant and smooth.

I'm really confused by it all,
Ive noticed im sleeping better. Also im not coughing up things from the depths of Hades anymore which is the biggest result so far.

I'm really confused by it all,
That's what I thought too, the first time. But now the smell of cigs makes me gag and I breathe so much easier.
When the cigarette tax in MN went way up last summer, I bought a starter eGO kit; tried it a few times, but it was just a novelty for me - another way to try and avoid the high taxes, like rolling your own cigs. So, the vapor-stick sat unused, with the exceptions of concerts and other situations where smoking was not allowed / a hassle.
Then a little after the new year began, I thought about quitting. Health reasons mainly, but I was increasingly feeling ostracized in social situations as we smokers are now firmly entrenched in the non-smoking mind as second class citizens whose poor personal choices have negative repercussions for all.
So, I hit up my local (Smokedale) shop to get new flavors and really try to see if I can make it work - three weeks in and I still haven't quit all the way, but each 'analog' cigarette I have tastes seriously poopy, and I am noticing that I want them less and less. I am not as far along as some of y'all, but for the first time in my smoking career, I believe I am GOING to stop smoking before I stop breathing.

Ok, guys I really commend you on all of the hard work, eventhough I have no real desire to quit.
But everytime I see this thread, for a split second, my brain tells me it's a thread where we all get together and tell jokes past board members that have deleted their accounts, and I get a little giddy.
I think I saw this mentioned by someone else, but couldn't find it. For those of yall lurking this thread and/or still just thinking about quitting, don't convince yourself that that quitting will be this massive obstacle to overcome or the most difficult thing you will ever do . . . it's not. Will there be some tough times, of course. I had this mindset that I would have to change all my routines and I would need to find this insane amount of will power to stand a chance, be miserable all day/every day for weeks or months. Looking back, that was a really big reason I never really tried until recently. From my experience, it really wasn't as bad as a lot of folks make it out to be. Now, I wouldn't take the decision lightly either way, you have to know you are going to quit. I personally think a lot of the "toughest thing you will ever do" hype is more of a defensive maneuver used by those who have smoked to help keep others from starting, and for good reason. I am sure everyone is a little different on this and it will come easier to some more than others. Looking back on my 15-16 some odd years of smoking I really wish there was a more positive attitude (like what I have seen in this thread) instead of the impossible feat that many make it out to be.

I'm proud of you!! I was a light smoker for many years and quit about 10 years ago and it really was not that hard. I do lapse occasionally (usually at Bonnaroo), but when I am done partying, I have no problem in putting it aside and have no desire to smoke afterwards.

Bought an e-cig yesterday after being nicotine-free since November. =/ Old habits die hard, I guess.

You can get the eliquid w/o the nicotine in it, if that would work for you Jaz.
This weekend was incredibly hard. I wanted a cig several times after dining out or being on the beach/having drinks. The nice thing though is I only saw one cig butt on the entire beach and hardly anyone smoking.
I quit last year from jan-roo cold turkey and it wasn't bad. This year I tried again to quit during the winter (too cold for that) and it was so much harder. Didn't make it a week. Haven't tried again since. But, I've been drinking waaaay more lately (I think I'm depressed or something, idk...) so I've been smoking way more lately and my lungs are not very happy with me. Thinking about trying to take another break....
So I haven't checked in a while til today and was amazed that it's been 23 weeks!! Not much activity in this thread over the past several weeks, hoping everyone else is still going strong!!
Also a friendly bump to give those unfamiliar with the thread a little scare thinking someone else is quitting Inforoo

Nice bump, Mike D Today is 17 weeks for me. At home, I wasn't having any cravings. But since I've been in Phoenix, there have been a few times I've had a craving....during a stressful event or after a good meal, mostly. I think it's because I'm in a different situation and not in my comfort zone. Thankfully, I just push through and it's gone after a minute. I hope everyone else is doing well and even if you're not, try, try again.

Im planning on bringing both a small and large battery. Keep one charged for long excursions away from camp like at night and the lil one for few show journeys to centeroo and coming right back to camp. The big one will get a charge when I have some down time to wait and the little one dosnt take much time to charge at all and last me a half a typical day. Also buying fresh batteries before Roo to have the most life possible.

Management cracked down and said I have to bring my vape outside. Sorry, I didnt know we served food at a f*cking car dealership! The perfume isle in Macys is more offensive smelling then the smell from my vapor.
Half the people on Septa smell worse then my vapor.

We fear what we don't understand. I've been places that ban smoking ANYWHERE in the open air parking ramp. Due to concerns that cigarette smoke would travel up the 150 foot tunnel to the building. What about all the f*cking car exhaust? Ever read the warning on the side of a pack that says: CAUTION - Cigarette smoke contains carbon monoxide? (As does car exhaust.)

So how'd everyone make out? My vape lasted about a day before I went and bought a few packs. Still feel like hell after smoking those bad boys, and have absolutely no craving to buy another pack now that im back to reality.
