I talked to some of the girls last year and they said they volunteered 8 hours a day and were recruited from the area (Nashville and even one from Alabama). I have a friend who's a hairstylist and would love to do this as a way to go to Roo. Does anyone have any info?
Are you sure they just didn't say they volunteered? I'm in the promotional line of work and I guarantee that with Garnier Fructis they were probably getting payed.

Last year was my first year, and I was talking to a couple while waiting to get into Centeroo, the girl said something and I turned around, and saw her ta tas all painted up, I did not know how to react.
I wanted to look, but her bf was right there, and I wanted to continue the conversation, but then I would definitely look at her boobs, so I just stared straight ahead with them behind me and kept talking. hahahaha

They may have been getting paid. All this girl wants is her ticket paid for and yes 8 hours is much of the day if I remember correctly they got off work at 5pm so you still have all of late night. It's not only girls wanting their hair washed, there were plenty of good looking guys too
As far as the painted boobs, I'm female and I still didn't know how to react when I saw my first pair. I wanted to look but didn't want to be creepy? At the sword, a painted lady sat right next to me so I got comfortable really quick and I also got to watch the different reactions of both males and females when they figured out she was topless. It was quite amusing and many people acted just as you did.
Positive. Marketing companies/Promotional companies hire independent contractors to be brand ambassadors. It's how I'm making my living right now. Depending on the agency and whatnot they could be getting paid per diem with their lodging free. It all depends though. There is hundreds of agencies that do staffing so I can't really help you as to which one it is because I haven't seen anything for it yet. I'll keep you posted though
I stopped in the tent for some air conditioning and I remember there being a HUGE line and a lot of complaining... I would be genuinely afraid of revolt
haha, I was drunk and ran into the people who had parked beside me originally before our dash to TO. The girls were painted and drunk me was all, "HEYYYYYYYY!" and hugged one. ROFL.
Last time I checked I was capable of washing my own hair. And I don't wait for 2 hours to do it either.
I think this tent is one of those things that Bonnaroo doesn't really need.
But the constant lime green in my face does cause me to buy a bottle of Garnier shampoo when I get home every year. So I guess their plan works. Kudos to them.
I walked by in the afternoon, took a number and came back later that evening. Waited in the air conditioned area for about an hour and had my hair washed. It was fantabulous! Anywho hopefully she will find a way in, she can't afford a ticket so this would be perfect for her.
When you walk in you get a ticket like a deli-counter. Just check out the line and count about 5 mins a person ahead of you- write that time down and pop over to the Wheat Thins tent for some snacks!
