My brother and I have been to every one so far.We have yet to meet anyone else who has. Ticket sales the first year were around 65,000 so what percentage of those do you think made the trip every year? Just curious.
I've done...two! HA! sorry...I'm gonna have to find a festival that will be long running to say I made all of them! You should get a badge of rooness, or a hat with a big feather so you can be treated as royalty on the farm.

I've gone to every one since 2006. So this will be my 7th. I wish I had been able to go the earlier ones but finances did not allow - that really sucked with me living so close.
For the ones that have been to all (or the vast majority), how would you rank the Roos, and what is the typical type of music that you listen to?
I know the "favorite Roo" question is very subjective considering the music is only a fraction of the experience, but i'm curious regardless.
For me, 2008 was one of the best for many reasons. I listen to a bit of everything (except rap and country....); Phish, Pearl Jam, Avett Brothers, Clutch, Metallica, Radiohead, Incubus, Grace Potter, Tool, John Butler Trio, and everything in between. I have widened my musical taste hugely since going to Bonnaroo.
I have been to every single Bonnaroo. I don't know anyone else personally who also has. I know people that have been to 7 or 8 Roos, and people that have worked 8 Roos, but it's rare to find anyone with a perfect record.

My favorite band is Phish. My favorite genre is funk. I love hip-hop. I love soul. I also love everything from afrobeat to bluegrass to jazz and metal, which is my I love Bonnaroo so much.
Bonnaroo should have a customer appreciation program for fans like us. I am personally responsible for bringing them dozens if new repeat customers. It should be like Jamcruise's 'Repeat Offender' situation.
And to answer your other question, I think it got better every year up to 2008 in every way. 2009 topped all other years with the most incredible lineup, but they started dropping the ball on logistics and art direction. 2010 was the first obvious 'step back', then 2011 had the weakest musical programming of any year, but they started getting their shit back together on certain logistical issues. It seems like they have picked up slack on the band bookings this year, and I REALLY hope they re-focus on art, crowd flow, bathrooms, water and logistics. I was almost going to skip this year, but the lineup is pulling me back in. Hopefully they listened to feedback from last year and are getting their act together to once again be the king of US music festivals. I give it a 50/50 chance, as I think the promoters have lost handle on how to create the 'magic'.
Props to all that have been to all 10 Roo's! I have only made 7 of them ('02-'07 & 2011) and I will be making my 8th trip this year.
However... My cousin, who I have been to 6 of my 7 with, is part of the Ten Roos Club. And I am proud to say he will be making this year's to keep his perfect record despite now having a 1 year old, and his wife is joining him this year for her 3rd or 4th. Don't worry, the baby is staying with the grandparents.
Props to my cousin Chris and all who have made the Journey every year!
I'll be attending my fifth consecutive and overall Roo. Been an annual journey for me since 08. If I go next year, which I will, at least then I can say I have been at half of them.
This will be my sixth consecutive, and the 8th consecutive for my buddy. Both of us plan on going as long as it is around.
I don't think Roo can ever lose the magic as long as you are there to party with your buddies. I came to Roo in 07 for the music, but I have come back every year for the total Roo experience.

The wife and I have been every year, and we do not live anywhere near TN.
We ran into Ashley Capps at Roo 2010 and told him we came out every year from AZ and he seemed shocked. I think he said something to the effect that even he wouldn't have gone every year if he didn't have to.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
02/08 Tool 02/11 Jeff Mangum 02/17 of Montreal 02/29 Blind Pilot 03/31 The Naked & The Famous 05/14 M83 and I Break Horses 05/19 Flaming Lips, Young the Giant, Dawes and AWOLNATION 06/07 Bonnaroo 2012!!! 06/13 Roger Waters 07/28 Toadies

I've only been to two Roos, 03 and 11 (lucky number 3 coming this year). I think I enjoyed the music more in 03, but I thought the festival as a whole vastly improved during my 8 year layoff. The infrastructure improvements and the seemingly much more diverse crop of people made 11 a great time for me.
This will be my 9th Bonnaroo. Didn't even know about it in 2002 despite living only an hour away. If I had a time machine, I would seriously consider that as my first stop. Missed 2006 due to being a broke college kid, and I've regretted it ever since. Been getting free tickets since '09, so I don't plan on missing another one anytime soon.
I'm seriously jealous of the ones who can claim they've never missed one. Here's my list based on overall good time, not just the lineup
1) 2005 2) 2003 3) 2004 4) 2010 5) 2009 6) 2011 7) 2007 8) 2008 - was only there Saturday and Sunday, but was still pretty awesome

i've been to every one, but i'm ready to break the streak. would have this year, but they booked radiohead. i mainly listen to indie stuff and have always enjoyed music, but bonnaroo is directly responsible for kick-starting my love of live music, festivals, exploring different genres, and discovering new bands. it is too hard to rank the bonnaroos. 2002 will still be my favorite, mainly for the 'holy crap, i am in this alternative reality right now' factor, which i think many experience at their first one.

Let me just say, I love the fact that you've been a member here since 2005 and only have 125 posts. You're the anti-Garageland.
thanks, being this big a lurker has been hard work over the years

Yeah, I wasn't kidding when I indicated my admiration. Lurking like that for 7 years takes an outstanding amount of self-restraint. Kudos. Of course, I also think it's amazing that GL averages about 100 posts a day, so maybe I'm just easily impressed.
I'm on a personal mission. 10k by Bonnaroo.
No life, I know.
Although you folks get a reprieve for the weekend. I'll be gone till Sunday.

I don't know if you can hit 10k by Bonnaroo. At your present pace, you've got 7,300 in 20 months - or 365 per month. You need 2700 more, which you would get in 7.4 months at this rate. There are 3.25 months until Bonnaroo, so you'd need to average 831 posts a month to hit 10K - that's more than twice your rate. In other words, there are approximately 99 days left, so you need to put up 28 posts a day.
Can you do it? I think so. 28 isn't an unattainable number, but it's going to take SERIOUS dedication.
I knock down 30 records a day.
I just need to buckle down.

But how much of that average is seasonal? I venture that August/September and the like see a lower post per day rate.
