Does he have any prior experience? I'm wondering if while fronting Korn he did this as a hobby? And I can't help but argue that Skrillex and his success has quite alot to do with this.

He's been DJing I think since 09 that I know of. And Skrillex, Noisia, and a few others worked with KoRn on their new album so it def had a lot to do with it.
