^^I might be calling cabs in advance to go back in forth from the Orange Peel & EA.com/Thomas
You can probably make the walk in the time it will take a cab to show up.
Yeah... I am kinda hoping they will let me reserve a cab ride. They do that in Charlotte. Call them at noon and tell them to be outside a venue a 8:30.

Yeah, my post was only half serious. This board can definitely warp one's perspective. I was arrowing over all the names on the schedule earlier, and I was surprised to see that Santigold and Miike Snow have more likes than everyone except Orbital and Squarepusher. It makes sense, they're both popular and highly billed, but they're hardly mentioned in this thread.
I think GLand is right, Hecker/Lopatin and Trust will probably run neck and neck. With the crowds both those drew individually last year, and the insane amount of competition this year, I don't see that show cracking the 300 mark.
ya, because you are a dummy if you miss the Santigold show Also I have to admit, it's not my cup of tea but I liked Miike Snow's show much more then The xx, etc. that played Thursday at Bonnaroo (3 years ago?)

Hey, I'm not hating on either one, just saying that smaller artists like Trust, Ana Sia, Death Grips, and Disclosure have been getting so much love around these parts that it's easy to forget that they aren't nearly the draw that Santigold is.
Alright. With the turn of the moth around the corner AND ATP over, lets get serious.
I tweeted Spaceman about the "secret shows". He told me to stay tuned. That's happening again.
Note to self: Turn on mobile notifications for Spaceman and Moogfest's twitter before Moogfest. The Field's show at Harvest was spectacular, and Abra got to hang out with The Naked and Famous and watch them record.

Good idea. Those secret shows were something I missed out on. I'd say that if they were gonna do that then there will be some daytime stuff going on again (like the workshops).
freaking twitter. why must you keep thrusting yourself into my life.
I know. It sucks too because we could set a phone tree if they didn't do tickets on it. Unfortunately, you HAVE to get tickets through them. Not a first come, first serve thing, like the first year.

Yeah, they gave away 5 tickets, I think, to Abra's Naked and Famous thing. She was the only one of the five to show up. Tons of people would have loved to go to that sh*t.

so far this is what i've got
friday: patha du prince < morton subotnick < primus 3d < black moth < explosions in the sky saturday: divine fits < cold cave < trust < orbital < four tet < prefuse 73
hardest part i can see is going from primus to black moth. i hope that black moth doesn't reach capacity.
^Yeah, I'm thinking there's a slight possibility it will... after Squarepusher/Primus, we are going to try to go see at least a little of Blondes, and since it's on the way to the Peel, try to catch the last bit of BMSR if it's possible.
Anyone think EITS could reach capacity? I'm planning on jumping between Hawtin and Explosions, but... I feel that EITS may be the most popular set at that very time slot, with the exception of maybe GZA.

i'm really hoping that eits doesn't fill. i might just skip out of black moth a little early depending on how they're doing to make sure i get into explosions. the first time i saw black moth, on the eating us tour, they were fantastic, the second time, on the last tour, not so much, although i am curious as to the direction that tobacco has taken the group this time around.
every time i've seen explosions they've put on a top notch show.
so, Abra just left my house on the way back from Counterpoint...and she was doing the hard sell for me coming to Moog. Honestly, last year I swore I would do it, then the poop hit the fan, so it became a near impossibility, or so I thought. Let's just say that I am considering it. I will have to work some things out, but I am going to consider it a lot more seriously.

We would love to have you at Moog. Good to know Abra is working on it.
Also, about the phone tree, make sure you bring your phone charger and maybe an extra battery. Between tweets from Moogfest/Spaceman for secret shows and Groupme. My battery took a beating last year.
I was thinking this, yea... this and Squarepusher are the two that I plan on seeing that I'm most worried about. So, I guess what I'll do is go into EITS, get my fill of that (maybe, maybe not) within a half hour or 45 minutes, then hop over to Hawtin.
Revised schedule for me:
Pantha Du Prince (full set) > Morton Subotnick (full set) > El-P (half set) > Squarepusher (full set) > Blondes (15 minutes or so) > Black Moth Super Rainbow (whatever, if anything, is left) > Explosions In The Sky (half set) > Richie Hawtin (what is left)
For the El-P into Squarepusher deal... how do they do entrance into the venues? Are the venues open at all times if they aren't at full capacity, or do they clear out the venues after a show and start letting people in at a certain time? If they let you in and out freely (assuming it's not at capacity at the time), I may have to end up seeing less of El-P than that. I guess the same would apply to BMSR>EITS.

They don't clear anyone out between sets, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to get to Squarepusher early. I bet there is a lot of turnover after Miike Snow, though, so you could still probably safely see a bit of El-P.
TWA is seated, but it's like any GA rock show in a seated venue - people will be standing and there will be a mass of people pressed up near the stage (well, behind the VIP section anyway).
I would probably prefer to see Blondes or Ahleuchatistas to BMSR, but I'm leaning slightly toward the latter just to guarantee a spot for GZA. Orange Peel is a good place for drinking, too.

And, Thomas Wolfe is completely seated, correct?
They do not clear out the venues after shows. You can park it and move in if you want. You can move from Thomas Wolfe to the ACC freely as long as they are not at capacity. TW can get packed for the later shows, then they shut the doors. Only let someone in when someone comes out.
TW is all seating, except for a small space up by the stage for standing. I believe it is VIP.
