Seriously, guys, to add to Holls' post- Mike and Sarah pulled up in his truck with a camper on the back FILLED FULL of camping gear and fire wood, with the wagon attached on the hitch. Some food and drinks were in the cab, the rear was so full. We could have comfortably camped a week, I think.
I want to join the chorus and thank Mike D and Sarah for orchestrating the weekend. And thanks to everyone there for bringing yourselves and your awesomeness.
I found a tick on me LAST NIGHT....ewwww. he surprisingly wasn't too fat. And speaking of fat...the tasty noms were NONSTOP.
This week I'm tired but happy....and ready for the next adventure.
The link says the deal expires April 4, but when I clicked the link, it shows 2 days available. We had talked about camping near or on the Ocoee as our next trip. This could be perfect...and FUN!!!

I probably will not go rafting but I know a great free campsite down on the lake that is secluded and has a private dock.
I won't go rafting or canoeing or really anything in the water unless it's on a big boat.......
I did this with some friends a few years ago and had a blast, it is really not that expensive with a big enough group. Really nice houseboats with kitchens and hot tubs, and what not.

Alright folks, we've found the home of our next big camping meetup! It's in Erwin, TN, which is about 45 minutes north of Asheville. It's a private campground on the Nolichucky River.
This place is PERFECT!
$8 a night per person. There are bathhouses, lots of picnic tables and fire pits as well as trees. It's a private campground so no Ranger Danger -- alcohol consumption is not only allowed but encouraged. It's also very large, you pay and camp anywhere you'd like on the grounds... no set campsites. You can even camp right next to the river. They sell ice onsite and you camp with your car. There are several white water rafting outfits here as well if that's your thing.
Now all we have to do is decide on a weekend... we're thinking either sometime in August or the beginning of October.
The AT goes right through here so some hiking would definitely be on the agenda. I'll post some pics later.

Labor Day weekend would be nice, but I know too many people already have plans that weekend... I'm thinking of going to Camp Reggae that weekend since we're not going this month. And it would be extremely packed that weekend.

Ok I'm going to compile a list of weekend dates august through october, then cross them off as people say they have plans. we'll find a weekend that most can make it. I'll be back in a bit with a list.

Ok, below are the possible weekends for InfoCamp 2012 (yup I named it lol). If you want to go and there's a weekend that you aren't free that isn't already crossed off please speak up so I can cross it off the list. Also, if there's a weekend you would prefer... then lobby away
August 4-5 Lollapalooza August 11-12 August 18-19 August 25-26 September 1-2 Labor Day Weekend September 8-9 Hopscotch September 15-16 September 22-23 Music Midtown September 29-30 Counterpoint October 6-7(Columbus Day is Monday 10/8 - so maybe a long weekend?) October 13-14(ACL & Harvest)
At this point my favorite choice is October 6-7. It will be cooler... and probably less crowded, but like I said before I want everyone there.
Erwin holds the Tennessee record for most Elephants publicly executed at 1. She had a trial and everything. My river guide told me that right before I took a mile long swim down a class IV rapid and I swear I didn't believe him but it's true. He probably should of been paying more attention to the giant boulder in front of us rather than telling us the story of how they hung an elephant. I almost died that die. Haven't been in a river since.
