I will talk with Sarah when she gets off here at 5. Were still open as far as I know. Sunday morning is out, but anything after 12 would work. What day works best for yall?
We'll keep talking about our hikes publicly so people know what they're missing, Sarah! ha. We're gonna have super calves and be able to walk to and from Centeroo like it's nothing after these damn mountainous hikes ^_^
I have to say as much as I have been smoking and putting on weight lately, I felt fantastic after that last one. I realized this last one was a last minute final decision on which day we were going. Cindy, Julie, Andrea, Jess, Lawngnome, where yall at?!?!?!
I have a place picked out that I would like to go back to - Long Hunter State Park. It is on Percy Priest Lake between Mt Juliet and Smyrna/Lavergne area, not far from where Starwood used to be. The longest loop they have is a 4 mile, much of it right along the lake. It has less elevation changes than what we have been doing, but than again, this is on a lake, not a mountain top or the Cumberland Ridge. Pet friendly like most other trails.
Is this coming weekend too soon for yall? Thinking Saturday would be best so we can get in shape, then drink twice as much calories in green beer, what better prep for Roo?!
If my tar filled lungs and beer belly can get out and do this, so can you!!!

I didn't do this last one because I had a bunch of stuff this weekend and didn't want to overload myself. We don't have much going on this weekend so we may do this one and it isn't far to drive
Damn, I'll be in ATL this coming weekend celebrating my people's holiday.
But next weekend I'll be back up there. Can we do something on Sunday the 24th? The hike around Percy Priest sounds awesome.
Possibly. Denette and Chris will be here for The Head and the Heart show Saturday night. We are going to take another look at the RV Saturday before the show and will most likely be practicing our hangover routine Sunday. Long hunter does have a very nice and easy 2 mile loop around a smaller lake, paved trail, literally no elevation change, that could be a nice and easy recovery walk Honestly though, I feel Sarah and I are out, but won't know probably until we wake up that day.
With Andrea and Phi chiming in with interest, we will go ahead and start planning for a hike this week. Any preference on Saturday or Sunday? Morning, noonish, afternoon? Park is open 7 am to dark. I would prefer something like a 10 ish start time Saturday. Discuss

Either day works for me, and I would personally prefer early in the day over later. We are up at 7am with the dogs so anytime after that
I agree with mornings, typically a little cooler, less chance of storms and such, and still keep the evening/nights free with plenty of time to get home and cleaned up and whatnot.
Still think we should do a North Georgia trip at some point. I can provide Spartan accomodations as long as we still own our house up there...at least its shelter, and has a kitchen and bathrooms, and power! Lots of trails and waterfalls, and the AT, within driving distance.
Let me know if Holls, you, and Mayo come up with anything. I know Al wants to meet up with a business contact in ATL, but if y'all are gonna be close by or out earlier/later than this dude I'd love to meet up!
Zen, I really like that idea! We will keep in touch and try to fing a good weekend for that.
As for this weekend, I will say lets meet up Saturday @ 10 a.m. That should give us plenty of time to get the hike in and not interfere with any St. Patty's Day Shenanigans that night. Here is a link to where we are meeting up. It is the Day Loop trail which is not accessed via the main entrance, if you are familiar with it. It is bubble C on the map below.
