And after watching that video I blame him even less. Whoever was on the mic was acting real reasonable about getting shit thrown at him. He asked pretty nicely for that shit to stop several times, because he didnt want to have to end the show early. I don't understand how you can watch that video and see a bunch of dudes trying to be "hard"

Because violence is the answer right? It's called walking away... Lewis Black had a water bottle bounce off his head at Roo, didn't see him going nuts and jumping into the crowd, because he's an adult and didn't feel the need to act tough and get pissy about it.
I do agree that they tried to not go that route, however this started over a member of the group loosing a bandanna or something, so pointless and unnecessary.
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.

Exactly. The dude on the mic was Rocky, and he was definitely just trying to diffuse the situation and just have a good show. He was definitely more laid back about it than I would have been able to be.
sbtrkt is getting a 50 minute set where at bonnaroo i think more of a hour and half. they are giving JEFF MANGUM 50 minutes and thats it.
Mangum played for just about exactly an hour when I saw him a couple months ago, so he'll probably only have to cut out 2 or 3 songs from his usual setlist.

They stopped the show to get the bandana. The "violence" was over getting shit thrown at your face. and cvb I even said, its not the best answer, but I'm sure you've never lost your cool before, right?
It wasn't the smartest decision but it's not like he didn't try to diffuse the situation with words before anything else went down. I'm just looking at things from his point of view and what he did is much more understandable than what the dude in the crowd did. You can rationalize getting so mad at someone that you give in to the temptation to hit them. It's much harder to rationalize throwing multiple cans of beer at a performer who is putting himself out there and just trying to put on an enjoyable show for the people around.
I'm not saying that what he did is 100% the correct way that situation should have been handled, but I am saying that your criticism as them being a bunch of "babies acting hard" is kind of stupid considering they werent the ones acting "hard," the dude who thought he was funny/cool/whatever by throwing full beer cans at the performers was.
All I was saying is that if you don't like his music that is one thing but totally writing him off because of watching that video is kind of stupid. It a) doesn't reflect his music at all, and b) being heckled like that is a tough situation to handle and I guarantee that you could have no possible idea what that could feel like to be on a stage performing YOUR music for people that love it and then all of a sudden someone starts throwing shit at you. I'm sure that it invokes not just anger, but also confusion (wondering why someone would do that when it seems like everyone else is enjoying the show), self-doubt, and more. So all I am saying is that it is forgivable to lose your temper like that in that kind of situation. Had anyone been SERIOUSLY injured or anything serious happened, I would not be saying this, but the pitchfork report said that ONE person was injured (hopefully the dude throwing the beer can), which is a vague statement that could mean as little as the dude got a black eye.
well my at the drive in wishes for bonnaroo can now go away cause my gf got us tickets to lolla since its the weekend of my birthday. this is my first year going there, anyone been? how is it? no late nights thing kinda sucks but that lineup is pretty badass
I think I just hate seeing fights... It's quacking stupid, and never needed (self defense excluded), and if someone feels the need to act on their anger they indeed are babies acting hard. I don't doubt they are talented and I'm sure they make good music, but if that's how they react in tense sitatuions it's an easy choice to not see their show, I don't want or need that negative vibe on the beautiful farm.

Wouldn't that be considered a BIG addition??? I mean not that there will be stuff bigger than them, but i gotta believe that some more known names will be added right?

Big addition, in my opinion. I'm going to go ahead and go out on a limb to say that we're going to have additions today and we're going to be in for a few more treats, not just cafe/smaller acts.
IM FREAKING OUT AFTER THAT LITTLE ANNOUNCEMENT! Seriously additions could be whenever i just hope there are a few along the same level (though i know this is wishful thinking)
I'd love for it to be today. I'm just in the mindset of Tues/Thurs.
I would say that Bonnaroo probably 'cleared' a day with Rod y Gab as to when they could announce they'd be there. In other words, artist additions day. Same thing happened with Danzig, no?
