Rubblebucket played in a bar venue in my town on New Years! They were good but I could definitely see them playing on Thursday. They drew a pretty small crowd.
They're playing a very small venue here in Athens, and for free. It's basically a bar. So I would guess cafe only on that knowledge.
That's surprising for a band that has released two full albums and an EP (at least Spotify has available). I would speculate a tent based on that fact plus I don't know if the full band would even fit on a cafe stage.

Bands with multiple releases play the Cafes all the time.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
Very awesome news about Rubblebucket. They were a band I was really hoping for on the initial lineup. Now if they can only get their Murfreesboro friends Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt! on the bill somehow.
This video of Rubble's is insane and one of my favorite things ever. I sometimes will watch it five or six times in a row:

Really? It's not that good. I mean, I glad they're coming, these guys are good friends of my cousin. They sorta seem like a rip of Of Montreal.

I just listened to Rubblebuckets' cover of the Beatles' "Michelle" and their very weird vocal phrasing and mixed time signature put my mind in a very weird place, and I love the Beatlesesque horn and echoeypsychedelic horn finish. Hear:
Echoeypsychedelic horn finishes have a tradition. Robert Wyatt perhaps did it best on "Little Red Riding Hood Hit the Road." Hear:

Very cool video/song! I've heard of them, but I'd never actually listened to their stuff. I guess I've seen posters around Knoxville or something.
Anyway, The guy at 3:32 who is playing tuba looks like Nick Swardson. Anyone else see that?
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.
It's happening again. I'm not begging for a vote, well maybe a little. If you don't dig it don't vote for us but we made the top 8 last year and we'd love to have a shot at it again.
At first I was liking the lower number, now I am starting to realize that means more and more bands will go unopposed.
So when Beach Boys play 80k people will cram into What Field and then when The Shins play 80k will try to cram into Which Field. Not liking this.
80K @ What for BB is o.k. by me, since I won't be one of them.
80K @ Which for Shins would be brutal hell for me, on the other hand. (Kinda like Mumford last year.)
You may very well be right, Frank. Selfishly, though, I hope not. I don't necessarily need to be on the rail. I'd just like to be in the same hemisphere.

I'm confused on how this 3rd man tent would work. In theory, a great idea, but wouldn't the crowd for Jack White just be massive? Not really sure how that would work out at one of the tents...

It could in theory work. When David Byrne curated in 09' he played the Which. I could easily see them giving Jack a What Stage and putting the supporting cast in a tent.
