I co-host a hip hop show for 90.3 The Rock (University of Tennessee), so I'm pretty excited to see Danny Barnes, Kendrick Lamar, and Childish Gambino. All should put on fantastic shows.
They might wanna look for a new host cause I've never heard of Danny Barnes
i have, but he plays bluegrass. anyway the undercard is great. undercard > top 10 and that's with one of my favorite bands radiohead headlining.
Darondo - not sure how well he's going to perform but his album is legendary
I saw him a couple of years ago and he looked like hell (maybe 4 teeth total), but sounded great. And as I said in his thread, he is the oldest performer I've ever seen hump the stage.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
Besides the well-established, everybody-agrees-it's-a-must-see acts like Fitz & the Tantrums, The Antlers, Mogwai, and The Civil Wars, I've gotta go with The Joy Formidable, City and Colour, and Sarah Jarosz.
The Joy Formidable - (Welsh alt/indie/dream pop with lush layers & a cute blonde lead singer)
City and Colour - (Canadian singer/songwriter folk rock from former lead of alexisonfire)
and finally...the one not to miss is 20-year-old Sarah Jarosz from Austin, whose bluegrass cover of Radiohead's "The Tourist" is brilliant. She's going places. See her in a small tent while you can.

I have seen MiMOSA twice in concert and they were definitely the most exciting EDM shows I have been to. He dances around, goes nuts on stage, and stage dives quite often.

people have mentioned Mogwai already but I will back it up even further because they are going on Hiatus after this tour. If you miss them you will definitely regret it when you can't see them again.

oh for reals? good to know! i'll most definitely see them when they come to NYC then, just in case there's a horrid conflict at 'Roo.

I will most likely definitely see the Joy Formidable and Delta Spirit, but I'm seeing them locally in case there's a devastating conflict and I can't see them. Other than those two my must-sees on the undercard are:

Research has been paying off for me, I'm getting into a lot of the bands I didn't know about until the lineup came out. Fruit bats, tune-yards, SBTRKT, Dawes, trampled by turtles, And little dragon have all piqued my interest after having listened to them. I keep finding more and more new bands I like as I look deeper I to the lineup
