Surprised to see them on the lineup. Probably my favorite band of all time. However, they pretty much suck now live. It's a bunch of old men on stage and HR does not seem into it at all, just trying to pay the rent. My point of reference is seeing them in 86 in Texas which still ranks as my best show of all time. This version of the Bad Brains is nothing like the group in their prime.
However, if you are a fan and have never seen them before I am sure you will enjoy it and hearing all the classic tunes live.

This is the first band that really stuck out to me, I used to love them. I saw them many years ago and they were pretty awesome. The lead singer hit on our friend...she thought he was a homeless man. We enjoyed our conversation with him....she was confused.

That is funny about the homeless man. I can totally see it. HR is the lead singer and he is really cool to fans. I know he is more into his reggae now and that is the reason the band broke up for so long in the first place (artistic creative differences) but no one wants to see them do a reggae-only show which they did as the Soul Brains for several years and I am sure the $$$ is the only reason they reunited as Bad Brains.

I saw them about four years ago and have to agree.
One of my favorite bands of all time. With that being said, I haven't heard anything good about their live show recently. My uncle saw them multiple times in the 80s and saw them a few months ago, he said he wanted to leave.
Just saw this band a few months ago. Their live show was pretty underwhelming, and I can't say I'm glad they're on the lineup. Would have much rather seen Trash Talk, Fucked Up or Converge on there.
I have seen them with Chuck Mosley and Israel Joseph I on vocals but never HR. I cannot miss this even though I am prepared to be underwhelmed as every review and YouTube video of their recent shows indicates I should be.
There's not a ton of good stuff on YouTube but...
This video kinda shows the disparate influences of the band a little bit:
Not sure why the first 30 seconds takes place on a train:
Finally, this one is from perhaps their last acceptable album and it's face-meltingly good:
I have seen recent live vids and I do have to say that Bad Brains live now is a bit underwhelming. Musically they are great, but HR just stands there with his hands behind his back and half-asses the vocals while the crowd sings the lyrics with him, sometimes drowning him out.
It would have been awesome though to see this live.
Same here. I listened to this band waaaaay too much in middle school for me to remotely consider missing a chance to see them at Bonnaroo of all places.
