The top rap act is the Roots, followed by BlackStar, then Ludacris. Maybe you don't like the lineup because you either need your eyes checked, can't read, or don't know who these acts are.
The hip-hop is terrific. The Roots, BlackStar, Ludacris, Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, Danny Brown, Das Racist? Sheeeeeit.
Sorry, I thought Luda was billed above all them. I wasn't looking at the lineup when I posted that.
I LOVE The Roots and Black Star, seeing them would be a dream come true almost. but I cannot stand Childish Gambino and the rest of the hip hop.
BON IVER , THE SHINS , THE ROOTS , ALICE COOPER , BlACK STAR , THE WORD , SUPERJAM = HELL YES!
that being said.. i feel with as little as 2 or 3 names/bands , this lineup couldve been GREAT. & one of the best Bonnaroo lineups ever.. with SKRILLEX & FOSTER THE PEOPLE in the top 10.. & BEACH BOYS 4th.. this lineup is far from that
I like the lineup, but my biggest problem with it is that it is such an uninspiring booking. There are only 1 or 2 rare gets. Only a couple jam bands. Only 1 or 2 bands targeted to older individuals. The rest are just popular indie and alt rock acts that never stop touring and play every festival.

You say this like it's a BAD THING? Just out of curiosity...how many times have you seen The Joy Formidable and Kurt Vile and Alabama Shakes and Orgone? Or how 'bout the War on Drugz, Sarah Jarosz or The Antlers?
There's more to a festival than the big-name "get" you seem to think we're lacking. This year, AC struck indie gold.
also, i think this may be the best year for rap even though we don't have a "headliner". we asked for better electronic and we get FlyLo, SBTRKT, Mimosa, Big Gigantic, and Major Lazer. and LUDCARIS AND BAD BRAINS?! AND ST. VINCENT?! AND PUNCH BROTHERS?! holy cow.
Lineup is looking very nice. But I'm also going to Sasquatch, and a lot of what I want to see at Roo is already playing there. It's going to be pretty awesome to see a lot of these acts a couple weeks in a row. Also, this is the first lineup since I've been going where I already knew most of the names on it. So now digging into what's there is just going to be icing on a pretty nice cake.
I almost regret how much time I've spent on here looking at the bands we've found out because I don't feel too surprised by anything. Almost regret haha. I'm glad we found out everything we knew.
