I still don't get how people get so amped for phish but hate wsp? Maybe it's just me but you take away trey and panic has far superior musicians & catalogue...
You so fu*ing crazy, Inforoo user highcountrychillin!
I hope so. I need to cook dinner but still want to listen to some of these bands that I haven't heard before. Also it would be nice to have when I'm out.
Yelawolf came to my school last year. It was not pretty at all.
he came out on stage with a mullet mohawk and a kids backpack. and a leather racing jacket and just looked like a huge tool. and he was really...really... bad. and im one who claims on the regular that "i love music so much i'd see ANYONE live)

Yea I want to know some of Inforoo's favourites on the bottom half of the list. Half the fun of Bonnaroo is exploring the music you haven't heard yet! I've really been digging the Tune-Yards, Black Lips, War on D's, Das Racist, Civil Wars, anyone have any praise for some of the lower listed bands I should check out?

I think this is a solid list we got to start. I'm glad i've had my tickets and air fare paid for since last summer. I expect my 5 favorite sets to be The roots Devil makes three The word The black lips Dawes
And i get to see for the first time Charles bradley The shins Kendrick lamar Alabama shakes Gary clark jr
There are at least 10 other bands i'm excited about to. The only thing more i could ask for is nice weather that weekend.

Head alllll the way down to the bottom of that line-up and listen to Moon Taxi! Hot damn! It's fantastic!

So...I just listened to Foster The People's album....I wasn't excited about them coming. I listened to the album and it's pretty damn good...
I saw them here in Nashville when they headlined Soundland. They put on a good show...might have been the stuff I was on but I was pleasantly surprised.
I saw Alice Cooper in 1973 or 74 on the Billion Dollar Babies Tour with the Flourescent Leech and Eddie ( The Turtles). We had a great time. We were tripping. I don't want to see him again.
Whether you ever see him again in strange ways might be tied to the last time you saw him.

Nice. I think they're just cursed with having a way overplayed song...

Definitely a Kings of Leon situation. I actually hate pumped up kicks, but their other stuff isnt horrible. I still think they're a very mediocre band to have all the attention they're getting, however.

I've made a few fans of them! Everyone assumes Pumped up Kicks is their best, its actually the only song I skip when I'm listening to the album. Pumped for them!
This is a pretty good lineup. Best and strongest headliners in years.
But I don't know if I can justify it. I've said all along I wasn't going this year unless I was blown away by the lineup.. and I'm not blown away.
There's some great stuff, but everything I would be excited to see is someone that I've already seen before in the past year or 2.
If some of my friends go they'll probably coax me into coming, it wouldn't bee to hard. But as I stand right now I'd rather spend the money on local concerts and probably use the vacation days to hit up bear creek and blackwater in the fall. And save up for coachella 2013
My sentiments exactly with respect to the "not blown away" part. Disagree about the "strongest headliners" (with exception of radiohead). While i would agree that music, being an art form, is in the ears of the beholder, I think that there are several famous bands with an ageless, universal appeal, that are not to be found in this lineup (e.g., McCartney, Prince, Crazy Horse, Springsteen, James Taylor, Aerosmith, Stones, Elton, Roxy, Bowie, Van Halen, CSNY, etc.). Admittedly, I'm an old hippie, but my 15 year old son and I had the experience of a lifetime last year at our first 'roo and were looking forward with great anticipation to this year. He enjoys my "old" stuff as much as his new bands, and we have turned each other on to each other's music. Unfortunately, we both were extremely nonplussed by this year's lineup and regretfully will not make the trip. Then again, perhaps it is fitting in that it would be extremely difficult to top our experience from last year. This, of course, doesn't make my opinion any more valid than those who love the lineup- to them i say i hope they have half the experience we had- if so, they will have experienced a most excellent, incredible, lifetime experience. Maybe we'll see you next year!
I'm really blown away at how so many people are disappointed by this lineup. Arguably the best set of headliners this fest has ever seen, coupled with an amazing undercard. The only negatives I can think of is that its a bit indie-focused this year and the well-known names are few and far between...but make no mistake, these bands are incredible for the most part. If you find yourself not recognizing a lot of the names, I would highly suggest listening to the artists on Spotify.
But then again, they could have simply released "Radiohead" and they would have had my money in a heartbeat.

First time on here today, super stoked about the line up. Several WTF's? But looks pretty good. Still hasn't beat the '08 line up though. I just KNEW OFWGKTA & Jack White would be on the line up; bummed about that. Could do without Yelawolf & Mac Miller. Ludacris... uh.. ? Bon Iver, Avett Brothers, Flying Lotus, Umphreys, Young the Giant, Alice Cooper, the Antlers, the Word, Black Star, Big Gigantic, Alabama Shakes, Moon Taxi, Fitz, Danny Brown, Dispatch, & Ben Folds? I'm down

Here's what I love about music festivals: there's always a lot of acts that you know you want to see, but the lineup gets you to check out a lot of acts you might not have ordinarily. Last year, I had never heard of The Drums or Band of Skulls or a few others, and we ended up seeing a (relatively) lightly attended show of a group that's now getting bigger. I love so many different types of music that just about any festival is going to have acts I want to see. But Bonnaroo is special. Regardless of the lineup.
....ok here is my lineup review, and i would love for this to start a conversation about my comments. To preface.......I am a 47 year old 5 time Roo er w a masters in Violin performance that saw 187 Dead shoes in 36 cities. I only mention all of this for you to see where I spent my last 20 years.
After reading EVERY post in the headliner prediction area I must agree that even tho I am enormously into Phish (see Dead pedigree above), this festival lineup starts and ends with Radiohead. I could not believe that after all of the rumors and prognostications that we actually got them.
After the whole Macca and Prince masterbation that I read and got excited about I was left with Radiohead and this other list of bands which left me as with every year that I have attended to ask which of these other bands will thrill me. (I discovered Dr. Dog, National, Jack, Lip Etc in past years. I just spent the last 8 hours listening to Shins, BI and Flogging Molly and was left likewarm about them. Please provide me with comments so that I can listen to some of this undercard and gain some excitement about ALL OF THESE BANDS that I know nothing about.
I might take a break from roo after this year, I havent been to any other fests
That's exactly what my problem is with the lineup this year. I've never been to a festival before, and going off last year's lineup and since I live in Florida, Bonnaroo was my best and pretty much only option. I know I can't/shouldn't complain but still... Wished for more...
