Aside from being unfathomable (WHAT???), I guess I'm a bit relieved that there exist people who could possibly complain about this lineup. Maybe a bit more room for me to dance, but we all know that someone else (with better taste in music) will take their place.
Bands I like a lot:
Radiohead Phish The Beach Boys The Avett Brothers Alice Cooper Ben Folds Five(!!!) Umphrey's McGee Punch Brothers Bad Brains The Kooks Trampled By Turtles Mogwai (!) The War On NO NO WORD!!! Group Love ALO Mariachi El Bronx (they put on a hell of a show at Hangout last year).
The wife and I are definitely doing VIP this year.

For the first time ever, I want to see the all the headliners. I get all the way down to Skrillex before I find somebody I won't see. I am ecstatic. I anticipate TONS of conflicts.
Curious about the people who aren't happy. Who would you have rather had?
Radiohead RHCP Phish The Beach Boys Bon Iver The Avett Brothers The Shins Feist The Roots Superjam Black Star The Word Childish Gambino Ben Folds Five tUnE-yArDs Flying Lotus Umphrey's McGee St. Vincent Little Dragon City and Colour Kendrick Lamar Dawes Delta Spirit Battles Bad Brains The Antlers Kurt Vile and the Violators The War on Druqs The Black Lips Phantogram Tramples By Turtles Gary Clark Jr Mogwai White Denim Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr EMA Charles Bradley I am going to stop there, bc that is all you need. Good lineup. People get your heads right

i am really stoked. after every 'roo i say i'm not committed to going back and start preparing myself for finally not going one year.... and then they drop this lineup. fantastic! like many others say, i'm only into a handful of the top 15 or so, but still: radiohead, beach boys, bon iver, feist, the roots, blackstar, the superjam, the word...that's a pretty good weekend right there, plus the undercard is fantastic. i'm sure they'll add 1 or 2 more to the top 15. will be watching the radiohead 2006 dvd tonight!
this lineup is so much better to me than the last two years - i've been asking for RHCP for years now.....i've never seen them & am totally excited! I'm counting 15 bands already from this initial lineup that i'm interested/excited in seeing. But it's been my experience that there are always 5+ bands/artists that i find once i researching the people i don't know that become some of my favorites......BONNAROOOOOOOOOOO!

Jack just announced two shows in Tennessee this week so maybe they didn't want people thinking "ahh I'll just wait to get tix and see him at Bonnaroo" and he'll be an addition later? Obviously he wouldn't have trouble selling tickets but still...could be a big name addition or something.
I'm not being a negative Nancy because I don't like the line up. All the "must see bands" like The Shins and Radiohead I have seen before. I hate the Avett Brothers and Phish and Ben Folds. Beach Boys didn't impress me last time I seen them a year or so ago.mThere are some good mid-tier and lower level acts but none that I haven't seen before or wont be able to see at a cheaper fest this summer.
Do you know/have you listened to every act on the lineup?
Sometimes my favorite shows at Roo are the brand new (to me) acts on the bottom of the card.
On that note any late night guesses/suggestions that i should check out would be appreciated.
I assume Alice Cooper will be late night and should not be missed
I'm actually kind of excited about the prospect of that. He kinda fell into my if he has an accessible spot I'll see him, I didn't even consider late night and I think that would be awesome.
