There are a lot of inforoosters that will be there. So it's not like you'd be all alone. Though if you're not familiar with Chicago it might feel a little crazy coming here alone.
You have two tickets right? Sell one and that will pay for your travel expenses.
That's a good point that actually hadn't even crossed my mind. I've never done a trip or festie solo though, so I don't know how I feel about it. I wanted to bring my brother. Unfortunately, he just graduated college, and he's in even worse shape. Hmmm..I guess it's something I might have to consider.

Lolla isn't like most festivals in recent years the crowd has not been as friendly as bonnaroo. Everyone goes with their group of friends and socializing with other people really isn't a big thing, which really sucks. So if you decide to go, try to meet up with some inforoo people.
The best way I can describe it is that Bonnaroo is a festival and Lollapalooza is a block party.

I could see that. It's why Roo is the best IMO.
After speaking with my brother, I've decided to make an effort to sell them at face value or less if I have to, and then put the money towards Made in America in Philly (which I was planning on getting tickets for anyway). Thanks for everyone's advice..and also for helping me attempt to win the bigger contest. You guys have fun and enjoy your incredible lineup. I will be seeing you at Roo 13.

I met a lot of friendly people at Lolla last year. They may not all be as friendly as Roo, but it's not like Lollapaloozans are jerks. It really just depends on who you meet.
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts

I was searching around trying to figure out the capacity of Perry's tent (15k!) and I found a pretty interesting article discussing the nuts and bolts of planing a festival (addressing bottle necks, crowd flow, etc). There's also one about the Ill AG investigating Lolla's radius clause.

Sabbath just posted on FB 30min ago that they will be at Lolla. Must be a licensing issue.
This whole Sabbath thing keeps getting weirder and weirder. My friends keep telling me I need to go see them because I'll never get another chance, but I honestly don't know... I'm just nervous that they are going to sound terrible and I will miss my opportunity to have a fantastic spot for Bassnectar
Bassnectar tours like a dirty whore. You will have tons of chances to see Bassnectar. I'm definitely gonna check out Sabbath for the reasons you listed, then if its really that bad, I'll head over to nectar.

I've seen Sabbath 8 times over the years; so my plan was to go to Bassnectar... But then I decided last second to go to Camp Bisco and I was at Firefly last weekend and now I'm Bassnectar'd out... So I'll be at Sabbath reliving my Ozzfest teen years.

That's my plan as well... never have or would see Sabbath at a stand alone show but generally like their music. I am going to give them a chance.

By the way is anybody else coming in on Thursday? I am and need some ideas on cool stuff to do.
There are a few preshows on Thursday. If none of the preshows interest you, go have a nice dinner.
As for cool stuff to do... I'm from Chicago so everything is kinda ordinary... but out of towners usually like the museums. At night, I would (in my younger days) bar hop in Wrigleyville or Lincoln Park. Others like to barhop on Rush Street (I always thought this was too pricey).

Yeah, doesn't the Metro generally have one after show a year by an artist that's way too big for it and it sells out in seconds and then the tickets go for like 10x face value on the secondary market? I guess I could see Jack White, I just don't want to get my hopes up. Cause even if he plays, there's like a 0.1% chance I'd be able to get tickets.
