Anybody planning to see Bruce in '12? I'm planning to go to the ATL show kicking off the tour, which is awesome.
We're planning on ATL and maybe Cleveland. Didn't think about it being harder D/T being tour opener. Hmm. BF (LOVES The Boss!) has an AmEx card, they do a lot of presales for those. -shrug- We'll see what happens!
I think I read he may to more North American dates after Europe.
Had to deal with them yesterday--something I always try to avoid at all costs--for Greensboro tix. Tickets didn't even come up for anyone until 10:04, by that time of course ALL the GA standing tix were gone and there were already 150 of them on StubHub. What's amazing is that this show is supposed to have paperless tickets for GA standing room, so how the people on StubHub got printed out tickets, who the quack knows. It's pretty clear to me that Ticketmaster is in cahoots with the scalpers and somehow hooks them up with tickets that the public never sees.
Anyway, so I went for GA standing tix and they were gone, so I went back to the show page and tried to get seated tickets (the only other option) and those were sold out too. I had to keep trying this for a half hour until I get damn near nosebleeds for the same exact price that the GA standing tix cost. Obviously, I wasn't into that idea so I just kept trying and tickets actually kept coming up. One time I got lucky and got the first seated level about 15-20 rows back at about 10:45.
I lucked out more than others by getting lower-level tix, but the moral of the story is: quack TICKETMASTER. Artists like Bruce that are so anti-TM need to start finding a way to work around this scum-of-the-earth, thieving company to sell tickets.
I completely agree. The only way Ticketmaster will go away is if artists will stop using it (although I'm sure this falls much more squarely on artist management). Hell, Pearl Jam even crusaded against Ticketmaster, and they still use it from time to time. I was fortunate enough to get GA floor for ATL by constantly hitting refresh beginning at 8:55 a.m. (CST), but the $95 ticket ended up costing $118.95. What?!
Btw, apparently the GA floor tickets are not paperless (for the ATL show, at least). I had to choose standard delivery, so I will apparently be getting a paper ticket. Ticketfast was not an option, though, so I'm not sure how those tickets could already be on stubhub. Also, screw stubhub.
Have y'all listened to the album? Thoughts? My iPod was on shuffle (boo) first time I listened and all the songs that mention Jesus/God/Lord came on in a row and I was thinking "WTF?!", but listening to it as intended was way better haha. Favorite tracks for me are Shackled and Drawn, Death to My Hometown, and Rocky Ground. We Take Care of Our Own and Wrecking Ball are good, too, just not as 'new' if you keep up with Bruce lol.
I'm going but have to work until 5 so won't get into town until shortly before show time. I hope Kramdor treats you kindly and also sees to it that they play Atlantic City, I'm On Fire or Independence Day; 3 personal faves that I've never been treated to live. Backstreets & Jungleland are two others that fit the criteria as well but I'd say those are more likely to appear than the previous 3 so I'm especially pulling for those. Oh yeah..."My Hometown" too!
