Oka, so Meghan emailed the peeps at color run, and they told her to send them the transfer info, and they'd manually make the transfers, and "she would be responsible for the money end of things." So.... Maybe email CR to have them do it manually and the 50$ thing won't be an issue?

Just out of curiosity: what did we decide is the best footwear for this? Will the colors wash out of running shoes? And are we supposed to wear white shirts? Apologies if this has been posted in previous pages, but um...I'm in "weekend lazy mode."
I'm wearing a white shirt(required) and a white hat and old running shoes. Also bringing a bandana to cover by face with when I run through the colored powder. I don't need my asthma act up.
You will definitely want a bandana if you have any problems with allergies or dust. That colored powder just lingers in the air. Especially when you get down toward the finish line where people are just throwing the packets around
I havent washed my clothes from this weekend yet, but it looks like it'll come out easy. It comes off the skin with almost no scrubbing. I wore old shoes so I wasnt going to try out washing them.
What was teh plan for packet pickup? The lines to pickup day of race were pretty long this weekend. They went quickly, but it wasnt a short wait. I think we were in line for 30 minutes or a little more.
If you forget a bandana, they were handing them out too. But I liked to cover my face when going through the color stations. It got pretty thick in the air.
On a non-run note, is anyone sticking around Monday/Tuesday? I was thinking of staying until Tuesday morning and wondered if anyone would be around to hang out with on Monday.

I looked at the website this morning, and there is still NO information on anything other than the race route. It's very frustrating that we aren't hearing anything.
The "tentative" start time is 9am. Really people? Perhaps they don't realize that we'd actually like some information since it's 6 days away?!?
Anyway if there is packet pick up anytime before the race, I'll be happy to get what I can.
It looks like it's 9am. They just did a general starting line and released groups based on distance from the start line for about 30 minutes. I"m assuming it'll be similar.
But I didnt see anything about packet pickup. The packets will have the tshirt, head bands, some promo material and your personal color packet for the finish line.
I have FOUR white tutus to distribute - one for me, one for JHo, and one for Krunchkat - that's ONNNNNNE extra for any ladies who want to wear one. And if there are 2 ladies who are interested, i actually have material for a 5th. You guys let me know.
JHo - Meghan contacted Stephanie for some additional info that was needed to transfer her spot - can you touch base with her and make sure she got M's email and she passes that info along to her?
Im wearing a white t, black running capris, some old grey sneakers, and the tutu WOO!

Glad to hear they'll be handing out bandanas. I just checked the website to see if they had any more details... you'd think someone would've posted helpful hints for allergy sufferers and/or contact lens wearers. Hmmph.
Between now & Sunday, I'll try all 6 of my different pairs of running shoes to see which ones I'm willing to sacrifice in case the color DOESN'T wash out. (And don't ask why a non-runner has 6 pairs. Just don't!)
Mayo: I'll claim your extra 'tu if no one else wants it! Gotta match my color sistas!
Also.... UNICORN HORNS! Does anyone still want to do this? I haven't had a chance to get to the craft store yet, but maybe I can after the gym tonite. Mayo: any suggestions on how to make 'em? I welcome all tips from our resident Crafts Goddess!

Cool - I"ll bring the extra one for holls, and i'll go ahead and make the 5th extra too - i have no need for all white tulle... you guys know i roll with more color than that
Im down for a horn if you're gonna make em Holls My quick and easy suggestion is getting silver foil (or multi-color, whatev) packet of birthday cone hats (party city has them) - then slicing them up one side, and twisting them into a tighter cone so it's more "horn" and less "hat", then taping them in place. capeesh? then they already have elastic on them to put on our heads too. ....worth a shot. if you make em, i'll wear one.

Keeping in mind that I ran Color Me Rad, so the product/ style of The Color Run might be different... but I had trouble getting the green powder off of my skin despite my best efforts in the shower. In addition to people tossing the powder, at my race they mixed it in like... MUCH softer power wash type things. Because the wet color stayed better. I also could only get 90% of the color off of my white sports bra (I threw the wife beater and shorts out). But again, the wet spray might have made the color stick more.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I tried calling her yesterday because she left me a message this weekend that she is probably backing out too. I'll let them work it out.

At our event there was no green and it was only powder. There wasnt a wet version. I think we'll only get that if it rains.
Plan A involves finding those styrofoam cylindrical things in the floral department, dying them in rainbow colors (yay, food coloring!) and wiring them to headbands. As this is waaaaaay more time-consuming, you can probably expect Plan A foil variety!

Oh, no worries holls, we wouldn't be going anywhere nice! My house is not far from LP Field so everyone is welcome to come and wash off/change clothes if they want. There are some good places on the East side to eat brunch/lunch food!
