My uncle put a Linda McMahon sign on my parents front lawn Sunday night. I come home from work yesterday with a can of green spray paint. Was going to tag the sign with dollar signs, but got caught quickly.

We found out Monday of a Linda rally in Mystic this evening. Bunch of us are gonna try and crash the party. Occupy CT money out of politics slash Linda is a c*nt task force.
Reminder to everyone that there's a debate tonight.
Tomorrow, Obama is coming to Madison for a rally. My girlfriend & I are excusing her first-grade son from class for this. The campaign changed his schedule from Columbus, Ohio for this. Presumably for the reasons of increasing turnout & voter registrations here, as well as having a large friendly crowd before which to declare a debate victory in Paul Ryan's backyard... though Republicans are quick to claim that he has a "Wisconsin problem."
It is Obama's first visit to Madison since October 2010. Despite his promise to be there with his comfortable shoes on if anyone loses collective bargaining rights and an absence at our uprising against Scott Walker. Should be interesting...
Mitt won by a land slide IMO tonight. He had Obama on the ropes throughout the debate. Mitt was on the attack and Obama seemed just to be taking the punches.
Wow. Obama looked and sounded lost all night. He had no plan, no agenda, no facts, nothing. Romney just kicked the crap out of him. At least Romney offered ideas and wants to try something new instead of treading water. Obama kept going back to the moderator asking to move on because he was beaten senseless. I do not want a beaten man as the president.

Yep. Obama needed to hound for facts because Romney is doing what a challenger should do - pull everything out of his ass and promise the world. Obama did it last election and rode it to the WH. All Romney has to do is promise the world. If Obama lets him get away with platitudes he's done. Make him come up with some factual bullshit that will piss ppl off if they dare to understand it.

Romney offered ideas, but he still won't back them up with specifics. He spends plenty of time saying what he WON'T do, without ever getting specific about what he WOULD do.
Lehrer had no control over either of them, and Romney seized the moment. It sucked.
I didn't see the weak Obama everyone else did. I saw a bully talking over him and the moderator, who kept spewing lies and half truths. I think Obama did well considering what he faced all night.
^^ Unfortunately in debate, even if you are factually incorrect the appearance of strength and creating a "turning point" for his campaign probably gives him the win - and some independents who haven't been paying attention until yesterday.

Romney talking over Lehrer was one of the more interesting points of the 45 minutes of the debate I watched. I have no doubt that it was something of a calculated move to humanize Romney, and I wondered what side most people would be on since it could break as "empassioned" or "rude" depending on the person.
The other point I was also wondering on was Romney's talk about the middle class and taxes. I noticed that he alternated between "I'm going to lower taxes on the middle class but also lower deductions and credits." and "I am going to lower taxes on the middle class." Both can be true, but I wonder how many voters just heard the "lower taxes" part which sounds awesome and not the "lower deduction and credits" which kind of evens things out.
Dave makes a really good point. However, I would rather have far less deductions and confusion surrounding taxes. You should not need to go to a "tax guy" to figure out how to get deductions. It will be interesting to see what deductions he is taking out.
As for talking over the moderator, both of them were doing it. Romney was just more powerful. He came across to me (and most of the country it seems) as passionate about what he believed. Obama almost seemed ashamed and would not look Romney in the eye, even while he was talking.
What scares me the most and what no one is talking about is that if this is the Obama other countries see, no wonder they walk all over us in foreign policy. If you take the job, you have to do the work, and the arrogance he showed in doing no homework prior to the debate makes me wonder how much prep he does when he is representing the United States outside of a speech written by someone else.
I have to say I've watched Lehrer for years and was extremely disappointed in his work last night. Romney did better than I would have liked, for me there is no denying that, but when you can pull out quotes like this then all his words about caring about the "middle class" are clearly bullshit!
He says we need more firemen, more policemen, more teachers. Did he not get the message of Wisconsin? The American people did. It's time for us to cut back on government and help the American people." —Mitt Romney at a campaign event in Council Bluffs, Iowa, June 8, 2012

"I won't put in place a tax cut that adds to the deficit." "Number two, I will not reduce the share paid by high-income individuals.... I will not reduce the taxes paid by high-income Americans." "And number three, I will not, under any circumstances, raise taxes on middle-income families. I will lower taxes on middle-income families."
Let's see - lower taxes on middle-income families, keep taxes the same for high-income Americans, and yet not add to the deficit. We have officially entered the twilight zone. Unless he's going to raise taxes on lower-income people 0.0
You can't really blame a moderator for how a debate takes place. They can only do the best they can. They are trying to moderate the President and Presidential candidate. If they want to talk they will talk. It is not like he could tell them to shut up so he can moderate. Can you blame Mitt for interrupting Lehrer? Obama constantly got more time to talk and all he was trying to do is respond. At the end of the debate he was still shorted 4 minutes, which would have been more like 6-8 if he didn't interrupt Lehrer. Also, it is not like one candidate lied more than another. Both told falsehoods that can easily be seen on any website that did any kind of real fact checking post debate. The fact is that Romney won the debate and he didn't do it by lying the entire time. Did he stretch numbers to make them sound better? Yes, but so did Obama. People, just admit that Obama got worked last night. Romney even out Obama'ed, Obama, which really surprised me. I agree with David Gergen when he said last night that we now have a horse race.
Day 1 - I believe Republicans are evil, selfish bastards who are going to rape children, kill their mothers and turn their fathers into Klansmen Day 5 - I could have said that with more eloquence Today - I was completely wrong about what I said about Republicans. Clearly on a message board with hundreds if not thousands of comments now and then you are going to say something that doesn't come out right
