also its pretty cool that I can email tons of agents about relatively small clients and not here back but email the agent of one of the legends of rock and hear back right away

That is because a agent for a smaller band might have repercussions for their actions. What are people going to do not book Gilmour because his agent talks too much?

Well damn. I guess I figured that, though.
Seriously good work on this guys. I'm thoroughly impressed. I wish I could give out more Fridays just for this thread. I'm sad about some of these latest let-downs (Sleigh Bells, Passion Pit, etc.), but the confirmations really make up for it. It's all about who IS on the lineup anyway, not who isn't.
Took a little nap and woke up to some new emails. Unfortunately no good news. The following bands will not be there:
The Aquabats CSS Sufjan Stevens Holy Ghost!
such a bummer -- Sufjan and CSS are incredible live! you seem to be very good at this. have you tried Tallest Man On Earth, Perpetual Groove, SBTRKT, the Vaccines, Wu Lyf, Grouplove, Yuck?
2012 shows: 3/23 - The Men 4/9 - Of Monsters & Men 4/21 - Bassnectar 5/2 - Shpongle 5/22 - Jack White 6/1 - tUnE-yArDs 6/7-6/10 - Bonnaroo 2012 6/18 - Destroyer 6/20 - The Tallest Man On Earth 6/23-6/24 - Governor's Ball
Ugh. We need some good news. This thread is starting to depress me. In the last day I learned no Sleigh Bells, no Passion Pit, no Sufjan Stevens, and no Sigur Ros.
I've tried SBTRKT, Grouplove, and Yuck. I'm only doing bands that I'm personally interested in so won't do those others. I'm into plenty of bands though. Have something like fifty emails out haha.
I want to repost this because I hope someone will do it:
The guy who replied to me about Wild Flag also does booking for Bright Eyes and The Go! Team. Someone should contact him. He replied to me within just a few minutes.
Oh my god. Thinking about them in Thomas Wolfe...I'm already starting to cry tears of joy.
Did you see that Jonsi show in there? So beautiful. A long haired stoner in front of me kept bowing and saying stuff like "It's so fucking good." He was also kind of choked up.
I'm definitely bummed about CSS, Holy Ghost!, and Sufjan. Sufjan is literally the best show I've ever been to. I was really hoping on a long shot that we'd get him.

Sure did, dude. It was just such a beautiful show.

Jonsi was the best show of Moogfest 2010. Incredibly moving.

Next year I'll have to join the Inforoo group. I think this past year I hadn't been on here for a few months so I didn't know what was going on as far as meet-ups.

Very, very excited about the confirmations the last few days--Foster the People, Yeasayer, and (possibly) FlyLo. Those are all three sets I'll try really hard to see.
As far as FTP go, I saw their webstream during Coachella last year (this was before I'd ever even heard their name at all) and thought they sounded phenomenal. I remember texting Zapp (who was attending) and asking him if he saw them and telling him it was a name to watch out for. Here we are less than a year later and they're huge. I dig their album. Catchy, simple pop tunes. There's always room for stuff like that in my heart. Plus it's cool that they have a massive radio hit that everybody sings along to and that's essentially about a school shooting.

Having Foster the People means we probably have the Kooks, since they're gonna be on tour together. Tokyo Police Club is playing with them instead of the Kooks for a few dates, so maybe we'll get them, too?
