Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo in 2013!!
Alright, its the time of the year where many artists should be locking down their plans for the festival circuit next year. So email/tweet/harass any artist you are interested in to find out if they will be playing Bonnaroo next year. Let us know what you find and I'll keep a list of those artists who have confirmed, denied, or neithered.
A couple people said they thought a new thread would be a good idea. This thread won't do any speculating based on tour dates or anything like that. Last year we got a decent amount of responses from directly contacting artists, and this thread will keep track of that. If there is a lot of backlash, I'll delete the thread and we can keep it all in the Rumors thread.

Do we think it's better to ask the artists directly or the management?
I'm thinking for smaller, indie artists it would be better to ask them directly but on bigger top 25-type acts it might be better to ask the management

In my dealing I've found the artist rarely know whats going on day to day. But mgmt usually denies it all around.
Yea. I think you got it right, gus. Booking agents and management would probably be the most efficient way to go for the bigger artists, although we will be less likely to get a direct answer that way, but smaller artists will probably respond directly.
I have attempted to contact PtM and Pinback so far.
FYI I don't tweet, just snail mail (email). So if any of you have twitter and want to go after the same artists I attempt to contact, go ahead, it might be more expedient.

you should put up a list of acts that have been contacted at all so we don't send multiples

I figure once we get a response, I'll make note of it so they aren't contacted again. But if we don't hear anything back, maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a few more sent their way to, hopefully, trigger a response.
Also, for the responses like "I'll play if they invite me" I'll be filing under the denied category unless something changes.

I'd sign up for a Twitter account and participate, but knowing myself it'd just devolve into me insulting artists I didn't like, or even the ones I did like. I don't know how much help it'd be for me to call Yonder Mountain String Band a bunch of f*ckfaces.
You folks keep it up. You're doing God's work here. Tebow be with you.
