i just snagged tickets for the east rutherford date! i got tickets in the 3rd row of the 200 section looking directly at the stage. i'm kinda stressed about it though, i have class the next day at 8 am and it's 2 hours from my school. for those of you who have seen tool, is it worth it?
Is it worth it? OH HELL YES!!!
The first time I saw TOOL, I drove 7 hrs by myself to get there. Yeah, you'll be tired the next day, but after the show you will be sooooo energized you won't need caffeine to drive 2hrs home. Trust me, you'll be blown away!
Did I just see Holls say something about not needing caffeine? Crap, how many seals of the apocalypse do we have left?

Sigh I do not have the vacation days I need for Tool. I only get 5 and they are tied up in Radiohead, Roo, and "THE WALL" however I might still get a dose of Maynard with Puscifer as I can use a sick day! This is like the first Tool tour I have ever had to skip and I am sad Hopefully Bonnaroo gets them and Radiohead as well!
1-1-12 Bassnectar NYE SHOW! 1-21-12 G. Love and Special Sauce 3-1-12 Radiohead 3-9-12 Experience Hendrix 5-15-12 Jack White @ The Ryman 6-7-12 Bonnaroo 6-19-12 Roger Waters presents "THE WALL" 7-7-12 Ringo Starr's 72nd Birthday Party Extravaganza at the Ryman
looks like what i heard before was wrong. Select venues have been listing Intronaut as an opener for Tool‘s forthcoming early 2012 tour. Thus far no official announcements have been made in regards to support acts however.
I had to do it. As much as I despise StubHub...........this bad boy was sold out for Toledo.
Picked up a floor seat for the Toledo show, Floor Section 6.
My Christmas gift to myself Needless to say I am PUMPED, last time I saw Tool was in Columbus, OH for their 10,000 Days tour. To this day that show is in my Top 3 shows of all time. SUCH an amazing live band.
It appears as though Tool‘s forthcoming early 2012 tour may have different opening acts on select legs of the trek. Brooklynvegan.com are reporting that YOB will open the bill on dates ranging from January 28th through to February 08th. This would likely mean that Intronaut will serve as openers during the first leg of the tour. No official word has surfaced on the matter as yet however.

Awesome about those FL dates. First time seeing Tool, and they are probably second on my bucket list of bands to see. Should be an amazing show. I've heard that for Tool shows though, that it's best to get a seat in the 100 section, rather than on the floor. Anybody have an opinion on that?
Here’s how the tour will run: With Intronaut: 01/14 Reno, NV – Reno Events Center 01/15 Las Vegas, NV – Mandalay Bay Events Center 01/17 Tucson, AZ – Tucson Arena 01/18 Albuquerque, NM – Tingley Coliseum 01/20 Grand Prairie, TX – Verizon Theatre 01/21 Grand Prairie, TX – Verizon Theatre 01/24 Toledo, OH – Huntington Center 01/25 Toronto, ON – Air Canada Centre 01/26 London, ON – John Labatt Centre With YOB: 01/28 Boston, MA – TD Garden 01/29 Camden, NJ – Susquehanna Bank Center 01/31 Uncasville, CT – Mohegan Sun Arena 02/01 East Rutherford, NJ – Izod Center 02/03 TBA – TBA 02/04 Charlotte, NC – Bojangles Coliseum 02/06 Ft. Lauderdale, FL – Bank Atlantic Center 02/07 Orlando, FL – UCF Arena 02/08 Duluth, GA – Gwinnett Arena

Why is that? Personally I always prefer general admission floor. I hate being packed into a seat

Normally I enjoy GA floor the most as well. However, unless I'm mistaken, the floor is all seats. On top of that, I heard that they use the whole arena to convey their laser and light show, which you miss a good part of if you're on the floor. Plus, Tool doesn't even seem like a band where it would pay to be close up to.
i know from experience that it's not fun being on the rail for tool. after being pressed into the rail for half the show finally i got out and was finally able to enjoy the show from further back.
there will not be a bad seat in the house. although in my experience they sound better on the floor..not up close but a ways back...then you also get a better view of their performance as a whole. But where is the source for the 2/4 Charlotte date? A quick google search shows a lacrosse game there that night...
I already have plans to go to Boston but since the 2/4 date is on a Saturday and I have friends in the area i would definitely consider making the trip.

It isn't going to feel quite right not being in the masses for a Tool concert, but my buddy locked up a suite for the Toledo show. Big big bigtime bonus is a bathroom right across the hall, and open bar in the suite. Needless to say......can't wait!
Tickets secured for Sunrise(Ft Lauderdale) and Orlando shows Got floor for sunrise ^_^ 100 level for Orlando
Does anyone know if there will actually be seats on the floor? I was given a seat/section #
i can't speak to your venue directly, but when I saw Tool in New Orleans two summers ago the floor was seated. it was way more of a "sit down" show then I thought it would be. it made sense when I walked through the crowd and saw everyone's pupils.
They just announced a date in Hampton, VA on Feb. 3rd. Plannin on getting my tix for that one considering my peoples down in Raleigh can't make the Charlotte show.

Tool seems to me like the kind of band that could and should do different set lists night to night But based on what I've seen from past tours, it hasn't been the case
edit: But holy shit that is a fucking set list!!!! Hooker with a Penis (for the first time since 1999) and Ticks and Leeches?! (I remember reading that Maynard has only done this song once on a dare because it blows his voice out) This sounds like a pretty moshable set. Anyone know if there were seats on the floor?
Way more Aenema than I'd expected, and all over just a fantastic looking list. I'm pumped

I want to hit up the Hampton show but just can't swing it. I am going to see Jeff Mangum on the 27th and will not be able to get two Friday/Saturdays off in a row.
I wanted to go to the Hampton show but the best available tickets i could get was upper mezannine and i didn't want to drive the nearly 4 hours, Just so i could be wrecked for Saturday work (sales) with meh seats. If i got floor or 100 seats, I would have totally gone.
