i would only put stock into the justice tour schedule as the others could very easily be listing the starting date of the festival and not their specific playing date

Silversun Pickups have the entire date of the festival in parentheses, but still specify the date on their tour: I think we can buy stock in that sumbiznatch too. You could be right about the other two, but I find it highly unlikely that they would put just the first date of the fest on there if they are not playing that day.

I have seen plenty of bands do that, but you can usually tell by their tour schedule. Does Justice or the other ones have other dates that weekend in Texas or wherever?

Yeah Justice is playing Austin sunday. Kaskade doesn't have another date until Holloween in Vegas. That's the last date on Silversun Pickupsand Avett Brothers's schedule though.

This is interesting, because I had the Le Plur headliners as Kaskade, Justice, and Skrillex. I would actually prefer Justice play during Neil, since I can't seem to really get into Justice beyond D.A.N.C.E., which is a brilliant song, but nothing else they do really connects with me emotionally. I'll go see them if there is no other conflict but if its Neil it will be an easy choice.
regardless thanks for your detective work longinus.

Yeah, I'm not too concerned about getting another La Plur headliner as I am strong undercards on the main stage, so I am definitely hoping that both Silversun Pickups and Avett Brothers are playing friday. I imagine Dave Stewart and Bootsy Collins will be headliners on one of the other stages and Gary Clark Jr and Tomahawk will play the main stage fairly early in the afternoon/evening. So I think that leave plenty of room for Zombie/Manson/Mutemath and even more for the main stage. If the Kaskade and Justice are playing friday though, that gives me hope that maybe we will get a La Plur headliner that I might actually give a shiz about. For example, I'd definitely go see Kraftwerk, New Order, or Squarepusher over Green Day (or at least split the sets).

Yea I'd stay at Voodoo for any of those 3 instead of skipping Green Day for Madonna at the Arena.
So I looked back at the '08 lineup....I remember I wasn't gonna go that year due to $$$ issues, and late in the game they added TV on the Radio & Mars Volta so I bought tickets. That add was Sept 5th '08........so I wouldn't expect any lineup drops until at least mid August.
I'd like to know what ticket sales are at right now.

They haven't added or confirmed anything no matter how much shiz anyone gives them on their fb. They just respond with "An additional artist announcement will be made. Stay tuned." -25 July at 14:09 "An additional artist announcement will happen, but a date has not yet been released for the announcement. Stay tuned!" - 22 July at 22:23 They did finally confirm that "The stage configuration will be the same as it was at last year" and that is good news...I love the way it was set up last year.

yeah like caddy said the big name adds are usually pretty late, early septemberish. don't know why that is. lenny kravitz was a late add in 2009. he bumped panic from headliner slot on sunday. i made a last minute decision to go to phish at indio that year so I didn't go to voodoo.

Lenny Kravitz in no way should have been headlining. He is perfect for an afternoon set (I guess), WSMFP got screwed hard on that one.
That was my first Panic show too.......didn't feel it at all......I can do daytime shows now but for a first show that is crap. Luckily I went to NYE after that and that was an amazing show.

Panic always seems to phone it in at festivals. But they CRUSHED IT at hangout 2011. Incredible energy at that set IMO.
Agreed Lenny kravitz is no headliner. I've never understood his appeal. He totally peaked with his "are you gunna go my way". Great video, good song. Nothing good came from hm after that.

^^ Panic def didn't do it for me at Wakarusa '10.....but Dweezil Zappa opened and melted my face so maybe there was just nothing left to be stolen from me.
Have you seen Panic at Wanee? 2010 the two shows were good, and the 2011 show was a heater. Surprise Valley>LowSpark>Drums>LowSpark>Surprise ftw
Agreed on the Hangout '11 set. That show was Quackkin' fire! I listened to that one on the drive to Allgood. The Ride Me High>Stop Breakin' Down Blues w/ Warren was epcot, Surprise was great, and that Faeries Wear Boots was absolutely badass. North with the fireworks going was intense as can be.
I have a setlist from the Hangout show....they were supposed to end with Chilly Water but they started the fireworks too early so they just kept jamming on North.

The only Wanee I've been to was 2009, the year they had it in early June. Wanee's normal time is always too close to Jazzfest for me to pull off financially, and Jazzfest is always a priority. And while I do like ABB, they aren't a big enough pull to get me to a festival where they headline both nights.
That Wanee trip did introduce me to the awesomeness of SoS park, which led me to my first Bear Creek (finally) in 2011. The musical styles at Bear Creek (funk/r&b/organic electro) just appeal to me more than the more rootsy hippie americana of Wanee.
Interesting about the Hangout setlist, I'm glad they ended with North above chilly. Feels more appropriate.
05/20/11 Hangout Music Festival, Gulf Shores, AL 0: Pigeons > Bust It Big > Mr. Soul, Cotton Was King, True To My Nature, Ain't Life Grand > Who Do You Belong To?, Ride Me High* > Stop Breakin' Down Blues*, Surprise Valley > Drums > Surprise Valley > Blue Indian > Saint Ex > You Should Be Glad, Fairies Wear Boots > Jam > Driving Song > Blight > Driving Song > North
* with Warren Haynes on guitar
I pretty much went into liquid fuel mode after Mr. Soul and didn't quit for the rest of the show. The Fairies Wear Boots was crazy, one of those times at a show when I heard the riff starting but didn't believe what it was until the vocals started.
My buddy actually totally stormed the gates to get in that night lol. He profiled the line, picking first the bag searcher who he didn't think would notice his lack of a wristband, than the older wristband checker who he knew he could outrun.
I never endorse this kind of wookery, but it still cracks me up to think of my buddy just running past them into the crowd. I don't think that is possible anymore with the intense police presence at the gates now.
Looks like pollstar has Green Day on Saturday, which makes sense. The stars seem to be aligning for Skrillex to headline Saturday as well. I think that would split the crowd well. Hopefully I'll see some of you raging to the Levels remix in the VIP pit. ;D
I also dig the Bear Creek type artists over the Wanee type. I haven't been to either yet though. I am still on the fence on what to do saturday night. It all depends on the artist additions and the scedule, but if there is nothing important just before Green Day / Skrillex, we very well might bail and try to get into that Madonna show. Although, I have never seen Skrillex and it might add to my arsenal of hating on mawfawkas that love him if I do rage that VIP pit witcha just for the lulz.

I don't want to pay $80+ to see quacking Madonna if there's awesome music happening at the fest that I've already paid for. I have a good feeling that someone awesome is going to be playing in the slot before green day (7:15-8:30) and if you wanted to catch that, you'd be lucky to make it inside the arena by 9:30...assuming you hauled ass and didn't have to wait for a taxi and had no trouble locating a scalper after the show already started.

I'm goin to Madonna, I could give a Quackk about Green Day or Skrillex, seen em both.
There is so much that's awful about this, I don't even know where to begin.
The awfulness starts w/ Green Day and Skrillex and ends with having to pay for Madonna b/c the headliner and semiheadliner that night are Green Day and Skrillex. That's the only thing that's awful about that...

^^ Nail on the head'd.
Skrillex sounds like a two transformers boofin' each other in a toolshed to me. I'm approaching 30 and don't want to wade through a sea of raging high school brobahs crunching their teeth. Green Day is dogshiz to me. I saw them in 2000 when they were still relevant, that's good enough for me. Had a boner for Madonna since the 80's. Goin with a bunch of chicks, shiz will be a blast. ^^ Good, MRFMTD.
Longinus- Yea, ya never know who could be playing. I've been spending the year going after my bucketlist, and Madonna, for better or worse, is in it. It really depends on what's going down at the fest and whose doing late nights on Frenchmen etc. Her stage show looks appealing though, with all the occult imagery going on.
