Some teams can only win at home (see Florida, Indiana, UNLV for examples). UConn is a joke right now. This season may be Calhoun's last. This team should be a top 5 team.
I truly think Butler has the most underrated coach in America in Stevens (with Gonzaga's Mark Few being a very close second). I believe coaching in the tournament usually wins one or two games and is essential in winning a title (I say usually because Steve Fisher backed his way into a title at Michigan with a team that was not really his. His Fab 5 teams had little coaching and needed it in the championships.)
Top 6 coaches in College Basketball: 1. Tom Izzo. 2. Mark Few. 3. Coach K. 4. Brad Stevens 5. Jim Calhoun 6. Coach Calipari
Honorable mention: Rick Pitino, John Thompson III, Billy Donovan.
Note: Roy Williams is not on this list for a REASON. Look at his teams in the past, he should have at LEAST 5 championships!

Calhoun's future isn't exactly certain. I don't see him leaving, but I don't know if his health is back to full strength, nor do I know if the NCAA is still investigating the program.
UConn has been very inconsistent over the past couple seasons, but I didn't really expect it this year. In my opinion they are arguably a better team than they were last year, albeit without Walker, who I wouldn't say was the, definitive, best player last year. Most clutch, maybe, but best is debatable. I know I won't be able to change your mind on that, just throwing my opinion out there.
UCONN is not better than last year. I watched pretty much every game Kemba played a) because my roommate is a die-hard Huskies fan, and b) I was disillusioned into thinking the Knicks had a shot at hometown favorite Kemba in the draft.
2010-2011 Kemba Walker was the best college player on a nightly basis I have seen since Carmelo Anthony. In the same way Melo took a decent team and made it inexplicably better, Kemba took a team with not a ton of talent and willed them to wins. Melo was a freshman, so it makes the feat a little more impressive for him, but Kemba played a position that makes it harder to take over a game the way he continuously did last year.
And I hate UCONN. Bunch of sports-deprived jerkoffs who care about women's basketball because they don't have a professional sport to hang their hat on (BRING IT JUGGS). That being said, I gotta give respect to their team from last year, as it was a genuinely great team to watch and Kemba being a fellow Son of the Bronx, it was cool to watch him take over MSG during the Big East tourney.

Yeah, I have to disagree. UConn is in a slump right now, but I think they'd pound Penn State and some of the bottom and middle teams in the B10. A bunch of their players aren't projected for the NBA draft for nothing. They're just in a midseason slump. I don't think they're national title contenders, but I wouldn't write them entirely off, either. The tough thing, if you're a fan of the team, is you're going to lose a bunch of players (Drummond, Napier, etc) to the League next year.
Nope. But PSU and Nebraska are the only two bad teams in the conference. OSU, Michigan State, IU, and UM are all legitimately good. Purdue, Wisconsin, and Illinois can also play pretty good basketball. Minnesota, Iowa, and Northwestern can all win on any given night.

Yeah, completely neutralizing Zeller the way they did was huge. Still think 3 through 7 in the Big Ten is a bit of a crap shoot, but Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana-even with their little slide-are all better than Purdue and Illinois.
Yeah, you're right. I meant I honestly think any team in the Big Ten could beat Syracuse on a good night even with Fab Melo.
My b.
Uh..no. If IU, Illinois, Wisconsin or Michigan, or anybody other than Mich.St. or OSU played in the Carrier Dome, they would get beat by double digits. First three teams mentioned CANNOT win on the road (already established by me up here in earlier posts) and Michigan is too young and does not have enough discipline IMO.
Mich St. and OSU would be the only two with a chance. In the Carrier Dome, I would prolly take the Orangmen.

I love the camaraderie here. UConn might end up being a beast again. I agree, I don't think any legitimate NCAA contender would want to face them at tournament time. But they aren't a threat with the way they are playing now. And I'm a UConn fan.
