I could go on and on about how I was right about UK winning it all and that a majority of what I typed in this thread came to fruition (I called Frank Haith coach of the year WEEKS ago). I will just simply say one thing

Just left the Big Celebration at Rupp. Not an empty seat in the house. An amazing finale to a long, hard year and a wild, wild weekend. I know most of the country hates the Cats and people don't get the unbridled devotion. But I'll tell you, I've worked with a lot of sports organizations across the country, pro and collegiate, and I've never been so proud of a group of players and what they've accomplished in such a short time together. Champions.

I'd rather us go on and on about all the unc hooplah that was touted, but didn't come to fruition.
Eh, that was mostly media hype. 20,000 drunk college fans running the streets all night long, some burned furniture, one shooting, 50 arrests. Mostly it was high-fives and strangers hugging. I see worse every time I hit Bourbon Street.

You see the same type of celebrations almost everywhere after the national title game, and every year mad fans say "hey look at these idiots, how classy, blah blah, im mad, etc." Not that big of a deal.

Talked to several of my media friends who covered the aftermath and the arrests. They said it was blown out of proportion as well, noting that Saturday was worse than Monday night if you really got down to the nuts and bolts of things. People knew the Louisville vs. UK outcome was gonna be like this.

I like a good riot. People running around half naked. Strangers hugging wasted strangers. It reminded me of Bonnaroo walking home with the sun coming up.
We have had some problems with guys with big egos the last two years and I'm tired of it. These guys all seem to be a little more on the level headed side for top recruits. Zeus is a true center at nearly 7 feet and apparently he should be on the court from day one but also will likely stay a few years. I love every thing I have seen of Brandon Ashley and Grant Jerrett. They just straight ball and keep the talking on the court. Gabe York may be the most under rated player of the year. We will see but I think he will be a starter by his second year.
On top of that TJ McConnell, the transfer from Duquesne, is going to be a beast. He is exactly the PG that Sean Miller needs. Thanks to him people are going to start remembering the old Point Guard U moniker.
We are going to be one of the most improved teams in the NCAA next season and the year after we will be in the Final Four.
With the Harrison twins declaring UK and the #1 recruiting class cemented for 2013-14 are you guys all getting excited about the beginning of our dynasty?
admit you're gonna be so sad tomorrow when IU wins.
I'd probably be more relieved than anything. That way they won't make the B10 Championship game and I won't talk myself into thinking they'd somewhat have a chance against Nebraska or Michigan.
