The commitee gets on my nerves. I have no gripes with teams that got in or seeding, but the potential matchups they create are so obviously designed for tv ratings. (Duke-UK 20th anniversary, Mike Brey vs. Coach K, Harrison Barnes vs. McDermott, Roy vs. Kansas, UK vs. Indiana rematch) I'm sure there are plenty more, those are the ones that immediately jumped out at me, though.

Not to gloat or brag but I did say we would beat IU by double digits on a neutral floor...and our best player had an off night. IU played well and I do hope that they do realize how far they have come I mean last year they were AWFUL!

It figures JackMcgrew quit Inforoo after his "Big Ten team will beat UK talk and his willingness to bet" banter. Looks like Jack Mcgrew needs to grow a pair and be a man...sad...

I was wondering about the status of that bet yesterday, Pondo. He never took you up on it? It was the perfect opportunity. shizt's about to get crazy this week in the Bluegrass.
I'll stay purple in the Kentucky debate. But I'll bleed UConn blue in the Women's Tourney next round. Husky fans are relegated to rooting only for the ladies this year. Cuz the guys played like ladies too.

I hit 3 of the Final Four. I had Marquette beating Louisville in the Elite 8. Oh well.
And yes, this particular turn of events for unc is more evidence for the "Roy is a great recruiter, but mediocre coach" crowd. Without the right pieces to run his system, ole roy's teams struggle. I give them credit for hanging tough in the first half, but they really collapsed down the stretch in that game. This isn't that great of a Kansas team, though they did matchup ok against unc.

I also hit 3 out of the four (UNC beating Kansas I should have known better!) Roy never did figure out the defense Kansas was playing in the second half (Triangle in 2). I still have Ky. playing OH.St. in the championship game. Looks like I will finish around third in Scrog's Bracketology

I think Kansas. I hope so because I think they will match well physically. Kentucky should win it all though. They are clearly the elite team this year. KU vs. UK

If Kansas plays like they did last night, The game might be over by the first TV timeout. They looke AWFUL last night. I was upset at how UK played until I saw those two (OSU and KU) stink up the place. I actually started laughing at the idea of either one playing UK.

I was a little surprised Louisville stayed in the game for so long. Great coaching job down the stretch by Pitino this year. I thought OSU would have a little bit of a chance against UK. I still don't know how KU has made it this far. I've been somewhat skeptical of Bill Self before, but he has clearly maximized his team's talent this year. Who knows? I guess anything can happen Monday, but I'm predicting UK by 12.

I could go on and on about how I was right about UK winning it all and that a majority of what I typed in this thread came to fruition (I called Frank Haith coach of the year WEEKS ago). I will just simply say one thing

Just left the Big Celebration at Rupp. Not an empty seat in the house. An amazing finale to a long, hard year and a wild, wild weekend. I know most of the country hates the Cats and people don't get the unbridled devotion. But I'll tell you, I've worked with a lot of sports organizations across the country, pro and collegiate, and I've never been so proud of a group of players and what they've accomplished in such a short time together. Champions.

I'd rather us go on and on about all the unc hooplah that was touted, but didn't come to fruition.

Is Rupp still standing, or was that burned to the ground as well?
Eh, that was mostly media hype. 20,000 drunk college fans running the streets all night long, some burned furniture, one shooting, 50 arrests. Mostly it was high-fives and strangers hugging. I see worse every time I hit Bourbon Street.
