I've got NC State into the Sweet 16 for many of the reasons you just cited. I think they'll be going into the tourney with some confidence, and they're very athletic.
damn it! my two favorite schools matched up in the first round. my alma mater ohio university and michigan, my favorite since they won the championship in '89. i even called the matchup before they revealed the brackets.
Hey, I'm an OU grad, too. Nice to bump into another on here, but I have to admit I have no conflict in my rooting interest for that game, having grown up in between Athens and Columbus on Rt. 33.
right on! it is heartbreaking for me to admit, but i am kind of rooting for michigan. it would keep some momentum going for the program and i don't want ou's coach to move on to bigger and better things just yet, which i think another win in the tournament would make more likely. i grew up in ohio and have no connection to michigan or the school, but ended up a fan. it has been rough living in cbus for the past year and putting up with osu fans! ;D

I'm calling FSU to the final 4 now. I didnt think Cuse would make an early exit, but I also think the 1 seeds look pretty vulnerable right now, excluding UK.
I had 'Cuse going down first even before they lost Melo. Seems like a no-brainer now.
Me too. I had Vandy over them the first time I filled out my bracket, now Im even more confident in my pick
Vandy-FSU is the one that I keep going back and forth between
Not that this isn't a possibility, but I always hesitate to pick teams going too far when there's a decent chance they'll get bounced in the first round.
For some strange reason I'm really tempted to pick Harvard into the Sweet 16. I think part of it's that everyone seems to be sucking Vandy's dick because they beat Kentucky in a game Calipari literally didn't care about. I know they can be lethal from 3 and have veteran leadership and all that, but no one was paying attention to them a week ago. Yet suddenly they're the hot pick from the East. The other part is that Wisconsin has lost to a non-power 6 conference team the last 5 tournaments, and I'm bracing myself for a heartbreaking loss to Harvard to continue that trend.

Harvard is a tough draw. They are very capable of pulling the "upset." I think Vandy may perform a little better in the tourney this year, simply because they have been upset every year in the first round as a 4-6 seed, if my memory serves me right. I know their seniors haven't forgotten this and they have a lot of momentum to build on right now.
FSU is riding a huge popularity wave right now, and rightfully so, but I don't think they are any less credible because of it. If anyone has watched this team, you know that when they are clicking and knocking down shots, they will beat most teams. They are very dangerous.

If Leslie gets in foul trouble, they will be in trouble

I know it gets said all the time whenever there's poor officiating, but I don't think you can convince me that 'Cuse game wasn't somehow fixed. Atrocious.

The lane violation was technically a correct call-it's when the ball hits the rim, not when it's released. I don't know why no one told Reggie Miller the rule as he constantly got it wrong. That said, that never gets called. There are lane violations on every free throw attempt.
The inbound play later in the game was flat out awful though.

I was listening to the Cuse game on the radio on the way home from work, and even the radio guys were all over the refs, questioning at least three of the calls at the end.

I love that Duke losing gets all the headlines when Missouri >> Duke and Lehigh>>>>>> Norfolk State. Norfolk State winning is legitimately the biggest upset in tournament history.
