Ridiculously excited for Wisconsin-UNC on Wednesday. I've pretty much decided to skip Beirut for it. KenPom actually has UW at 54%. I don't think they're going to win, but if it's anything like the 2005 Elite 8 matchup I'll be thrilled.

Hopefully Barnes can play. Otherwise they're going to figure the Giant from Big Fish, and that doesn't exactly give me the warm and fuzzies.
So much for #1 vs #2, this coming saturday. Oh well, it's too early to consider ranks and still should be one helluva game. Can't wait. Tickets to Rupp are ridiculous, $1000 and up.
Looking at the box score now from last night...UNC played 14 guys? What? How is that even possible. A few guys were only 1 minute but that's still crazy.
And apparently they played 15 the game before. Woah.

Roy Williams always puts scrubs in for the last-second plays so his starters don't get stupid fouls.
And UNC/UK will be a great game. I might go to a UK bar in Manhattan just to piss people off.
If Kentucky can turn it into a half court game, I think they win pretty easily. If its an up and down the court kind of game, I think its pretty close.

Wow...with the "great" officiating, I am surprised we won (best friend was at Rupp, mid-court second level...damn did I wanna go). UK survived unbelievable 3-point shooting and questionable officiating to win a close thriller.
UNC will be fine but truly the sky is the limit with the Cats this year. I have no problem with UNC being still ranked in the top 10 either, despite a loss to a non-top 25 team (at the time) or a second loss to UK. I mean UK is #1 (although I would rank Ohio State ahead of them, even though we beat the Tarheels).

You guys cross yr fingers & hold yr breath. We'll just keep winning while turning freshmen into pros.
Winning what? 2011 was UK's first Final Four appearance in 13 years, and they haven't won a championship since 1998.
uh How many championships does Uconn have again? Is it near 7? In the ball park of 7? How many wins? It's ok to celebrate one year. I'm sure with Calhoun's recent "good track record" he will be considered right along Coach Cal as being cooked as well. Personally, I like Calhoun and the job he does. A good second tier program (sorry, the Lady Huskies are top dog there.)

Pretty good game from start to finish. To be honest I thought unc played better than uk for 35 minutes, but the stretch from about 8-3 minutes remaining in the second half made the difference. Uk had several breakdowns defensively, mostly in the first half and somehow unc shot the lights out from beyond the arc and uk was still somehow to get the win, which is impressive. My assertions that Henson and Zeller are soft, have been affirmed once again. They defend the rim well, but are definite liabilities in the paint against bigger, stronger teams.
Also, its December, no real reason to be overly excited about the win, or disappointed in the loss.
Also, Tu Holloway is as clutch as they come. The guy is so good, hopefully he will get some deserving attention as the season goes on.

UConn has three since 1999. How many does Kentucky have in that span?
And before you get all self-righteous about Kentucky's 7 titles, 5 of those came before 1980. Citing those titles as proof of anything except PAST glory is almost as bad as 19 year old Yankee fans who crow about "27 rings." The only title that matters is the last one.
This has nothing to do with college basketball but there is not an NBA thread. Derrick Rose is about to sign a $250 million (yes $250 million) contract with adidas. Just wanted to blow your mind with that right now
