Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I decided I was never going to return to Bonnaroo. I mean, hell, Im 35 and couldnt handle the heat. And Im from FLORIDA. But something about Roo got inside me. And now I find myself obsessing about it, and vowing to pick the right people to travel there with.
I am going in '12. (and to Wanee). I will decide '13 when I have to.
im sorry to hear about that experience. it definiely is not pleasent when the people your with hold you back, its easy to do-- especially if you are the one who planned the trip or had the idea to go-- it leaves you with a sense of obligation to make sure everyone has a good time, and in the process you forget about you and your needs and you end up sacrificing part of your trip for the others.
don't let what happened in '11 discourage you, next time around bring the right people and make it clear from the beginning what to expect. goto bands you want to see, see things YOU wanna do, just "clock off" and experience it. thats the best way. as for the fake corn, well.... your on your own for that one. don't get hosed, or call me next time i'll point you in the right directior lol
I realize that my depiction of 11 may have come off as whiny but I didnt mean for it to. I meant it more like "I messed up in 11, but 12 is going to be different"
Im not discouraged. I did realize that Im just not a 'tent at roo' type person. Hence, the RV this year so I can sleep and get more music and fun in.
As far as the corn... hopefully I can work that out this year...I really want to have a full Roo experience this time, if you catch my drift lol

It is weird because every year, I consider hanging up the horns and the clock. Last year, i originally planned on it being the last time for madman pondo at Roo and instead go as Everyday Bryan. I mean it gets hot under the horns and it wears me out by Sunday. On the way out of Centeroo, I met a girl who was drug-free for the first time in her life and she said Inforoo had helped with that and she recognized me by my getup. She hugged me and thanked Inforoo for helping her remain sober and that seeing me was a huge boost. I realized right then that Bonnaroo will always be a home away from home for me and unless I am physically unable (which may be a possibility with the condition of my left leg), I will go and continue to lead the Pondo Army.
The lineup was not as good last year IMO but I still had a blast and meeting many of you is always awesome. Plus, i still have to meet Jugs (THIS IS THE YEAR!!!)

Ugh. For weeks I've been ok with not going. Now with the Phish rumors and the possibility of The Beach Boys I'm rethinking my decision. We will see what my finances are when the line up drops.
I figure all I need is a ticket and a ride. That's not much at all, right?

Every year, by the end of the weekend, I'm about ready to hang up my 'roo walkin' shoes. I'm 40 now, and it's such an endurance test, especially tentin' it. That said/written, come winter I jump on this board and get pretty damn excited all over again. It becomes a sort of obsession for me. Now, with all the rumors swirling around, especially Phish, I can't wait to get back to the farm.
The enhancement smoker, "Have you been to Roo""Yes." "But, have you been to Roo on weeeeeeed? That is the way to see man, its just whacked!" I get creative.
thats the only way to see it! like "who's that up on the clock tower?" is it gary chardonnay? red team go, red team go!

Dude...without a doubt, Bonnaroo needs Garageland. Period. End of story.

I have been back and forth since leaving Roo last year about returning, but the closer it gets the more I am wanting to go. Especially now as we get ready to go into the new year and line-up announcements are right around the corner (and rumors are already swirling). The heat kicked my ass last year and it wasn't even the hottest Roo I've been to.

One of the reasons I keep coming back for more - aside from the music and overall vibe - is because I somehow convince myself it will be cooler "this year," and by cooler I mean like 82-85.
I get my first Social Security check a week before this year's 'Roo and last year was a little bit of a challenge with the heat but I've survived 3 and have no plans not to make it 4. Actually I bought my tix in the June pre-sale so i guess I was pretty well recovered pretty quickly. Bonnaroo is just too much fun to miss. I have a blast, my son and I drive down and he hangs with some of his buddies and I do my own thing and hear great music that I otherwise wouldn't hear and meet great people. I figure as long as some of the performers are the same acts that I saw in the 60's and 70's then I must be where i belong. At this point i can't imagine not going back. For anyone who is getting a touch of gray, VIP makes things a whole lot easier especially the VIP tent next to the Which Stage.
Every year I say maybe next year I'll not go and do something else during that week. Then I remember 2007, I didn't go that year and I hated that so much. Every time I went on the computer I read updates and reviews. That was no fun at all. Then hearing how good Tool was.....no good.
I have four kids under 10 and 2 of them have been to Bonnaroo. They have all been to a music festival in one way or another(pregnant).
I love taking them to music festivals, but have made the decision that smaller fests closer to home is the better way to go with them. For now, until they get a bit older, Bonnaroo is my weekend away.
So I will go, every year, even if some times I say I won't.

I can't do much for the ticket, but you get yourself to Wilson, NC (2 1/2 hrs. from Richmond) and I can promise you a ride!

Melissa is a helper! I will never be able to fully thank her fer her help in 2010.
I won't be going solo as Mrs. Garageland said she wanted to do it. It would be the craziest thing ever and a story of a lifetime.
Now we gotta figure out tickets. We're gonna make this happen.
Wooohooooo Autumn!!! Y'all doing VIP?
Nah. We will downgrade to GA. More than likely camp with Inforoo in TO. Dunno how it's gonna work though. We might just take some chances and get tickets in line on Wednesday afternoon/night. Ugh. Logistics.
The crowds are what is killing me most, 20% more for a ticket and 20% less people is the best decision they could possibly make.
^^^this - this was our deciding factor to not return this year. There were way too many people last year. I will miss my 'roo family this year but I will not miss the crowds and the inability to get even close enough to a stage to see the band. Last year we could not get close to anything - it was hard to get around in Centeroo because of the crowds and - as was said before - there have been no major improvements - its all the same stuff - over and over and over again. It's time for a change in scenery for me and elusiveboz

I find myself hoping for a mediocre line up so that I won't feel bad about skipping roo. I think id rather spend the money and vacation days on multiple small scale regional fl festivals like aura and a couple of the shindigs at suwannee music park

not that I want to encourage skipping Roo, but I did my first Bear Creek in 2011 and if you love cold weather and THE FUNK it's hard to beat!

I did blackwater last year, and although it didn't live up to my best times at roo, it came close enough. And it was a hell of alot cheaper, closer, and more comfortable

I go to Bonnaroo because it is cheaper closer and more comfortable. This does not work for everyone however.
