We are not complaining about the free service, or the people moderating it. We are taking issue with a single decision made by those people, this isn't a personal thing, which you're turning it into. Notice we're not attacking the mods, and vice-versa. So I don't know why you went into 5th gear here, it's really unnecessary.
This was a focused discussion that you came into (which is fine), but then tried to redirect it towards someone not the subject of the discussion.

this has happened multiple times since i've been on here...creep, boothead, emoney (hell, wasn't there even a free nodepression thread at one time??).
the mods ban the people who deserve it and bring back the ones that don't (yes nodepression, you've been nic(er). hahaha)

Calling out newer members of the board is unnecessary. Flanz is as high quality of a poster as Inforoo has in my opinion.

Just because you have a personal dislike for emoney doesn't mean he doesn't contribute. You disagree with that, fine. But you can call me out all you want there have been plenty of longer-tenured posters who have posted similar points as I have, so what's the logic for dismissing their identical points?

what i am trying to point out is people in africa are starving, and don't you have a midterm due next week?? this has happened a bunch of times on the board before....it is just the first time it has happened since you've been on here. but this is old hat man.

Flanz is an extraordinary poster. I like reading his posts. I didn't think she was claiming he was inferior or a low-quality poster by pointing out how long he's been here but was just trying to explain that this isn't the first time this type of thing has happened and had he been here longer he may know that.

This is all ridiculous, you're right.
As far as I know, that is not the reason Emoney was banned. It was a combination of things that have been openly discussed in here.
As for "locking the thread" it was brought up earlier that "the mods will just lock this anyways" so we thought that it would be better to leave it open to discuss. The idea of locking it was brought up but since someone complained about it happening (and have complained in the past) we wanted to let everyone post here. It was left open because if we locked it there would be complaints. Now we're getting complaints about leaving it open? Just can't win lol.

I for one think that the MOD's on this board do a great job. It's tough. The moment you go from being a citizen to moderator you have to throw out your opinions and try your best to be diplomatic at all times. This is a really big community with people from all walks of life. Everyone educated enough to form a sentence(most of the time) and create a post based on an opinion. That makes for a lot of reading and decision making to be done by these handful of people that are regulating this board in their spare time.
I'm sure whenever a decision like this has to be made they sit around and discuss it to death on the proper action that should be made. On that won't piss off the majority of people. I know I used to do it when I was a MOD. It was hard. And it does nothing for self esteem. Yeah I get it, it's the internet. But it's no fun hearing people tell you thatthe decision you made was wrong.
I don't personally know emoney. I didn't really pay attention to many of his posts. Mostly because his signature hurt my brain so I would just skip to the next post. So I could really care less if he is here or not. But I do respect the MODs on this board because it usually runs pretty smoothly for its size. And these few people have a hand in that.

If the MODs say he should be banned, then he should be banned. Or how about he agrees to terms of coming back. Like not having that obnoxious signature.
there are three signature that force me to keep them turned off because of browsing at work. emoney. costanza. and the bouncing katy perry ta-tas. i aint mad tho, it actually makes reading the boards easier, but harder to identify people.

I haven't gone back to look at that meltdown, although I should because that thread was great, but I don't reember if Sproat actually threatened flanzo, or if it was more of a challenge. Either way, that statute of message board limitations has probably passed. I know his one big threat of a fellow member came in person at Roo, and not on the boards, so he can't really be banned for that.
A few years ago I would have brushed off internet threats as nothing to be taken seriously. Because it's kind of ridiculous. But now that my oldest daughter is getting closer to middle school and wanting to spend more time on the computer I'm much more sensitive to bullying. It's the momma bear in me that doesn't like it when people are actually hurt by what they read on the computer.
This. If emoney's ban continues then you MUST ban every other poster that has done the same things as him (or worse) unless the mods are ok with being raging hypocrites. It's pretty obvious to most people on here that emoney has made way less offensive posts than some posters on here that are allowed to continue posting. That is all I have to say about this crap.
