I always start deleting people when I start hovering around ~200 friends. I absolutely do not need to see over 200 people's daily updates. I don't know 200 people well enough to care about their shit and it clutters up my news feed to where I miss out on the people I actually care about's updates and (the main reason I have a facebook) streamlined, instant-access band info. I also started deleting people when I realized I "hide" a lot, if not all, of their posts. Fucking facehook.
You guys are lucky you don't have a ton of professional connections to keep intact... Or absolutely creative and intelligent people from your hometown..

LinkedIn, bruh.
I have a FB to post stuff about legalizing weed and whatever behavior my fellow Generation Y'ers are exhibiting that makes me want to run through the middle of a crowded Urban Outfitters swinging a mace. I have a LinkedIn so middle-aged upper-management can feel "conencted" to me without me having to divulge a single intimate detail about my life.
Edit: Sorry, I forgot you freelance and thus might not have that work connection structure where LinkedIn would be very beneficial. Apologies.

Ya... I'll admit I often feel off here because freelancing is such a different beast. I have folks my age up to say 35; some a bit older - we do films together and thus is a collaborative effort. Not maintaining connections means no work; especially since you don't see them everyday or even weekly. And linkedin really doesn't mean much to this generation; it's not a reel and it's not user intuitive.
Also, my social media and real life merged such a long time ago, turning back is impossible. It's been that for a long time - I've had an art group on facebook since 2008; music; and film. If the Internet isn't part of my "real life", someone fooled me.
The hospital I work at sent out a February newletter. I'm glad EAP can help if we are having challenges with our relationships I knew she was a great girl. ]
It's killing me that I can't look in the Wire thread yet.
You could start a new one with the idea being that nobody can post/comment/or imply spoilers past whatever episode you're currently on. I can guarantee you that others will want to discuss the wire as well haha
i want to watch all of the Wire, but no streaming on Netflix, and I know no one who owns discs. I could switch to disc only on netflix... watch them all... then switch back... dang it.

Good idea, but I wonder how we'd go about choosing a starting point?

Shooooot. Do you know anyone who has HBO (for access to their streaming site, HBO GO)? I'm already using someone else's login, otherwise I'd totally hook you up.

Not sure if you have any blockbusters around you but they have 99cent rentals, buy one get one free.

What do you mean? You just say that you're up to epsiode "so-and-so" and then everyone can discuss the show from the beginning up until that point. Don't mention future stuff. Then, after you watch an episode (or breeze through a few) you come in and post your thoughts and what episode you ended with. then everyone has the greenlight to discuss those few episodes you just finished.

Is it sad that I would have been totally down for doing this and know there would be several others who would as well because of their Wire fixation?
Maybe we can have one thread per season? There's only 6 right? Season 6 - The Wire, Season 5 - The Wire and so on. I'd think putting the season first will reduce the number of accidental posts and then people wont go into a thread that's beyond where they've watched unless they choose to do so.
