All of them in Chicago go like this, "you were at Foot Club (or Rainbo), wearing a keen mustache and talking about the Jungian psychology of My Little Ponies. I was standing by the wall. You were beautiful."
Not that it should matter, but what have I done to receive dunzo points over the last 2 days? My fragile little message board psyche is upset, so I guess I should opt out.
If it's any consolation, my fabricated Diddly Swag # has been getting consistently dunzo'd by an anonymous person for about 2-3 weeks now. I admire their persistence, although they've tapered off the past week or so. No commitment from today's youth, I tell ya.

So yeah, it's been a week or two now, so I feel I can say this without jinxing myself. We changed to cable internet last month. It was great for the first week then the modem started randomly dropping the connection at times. Resetting the modem would usually fix it then it would go out about 5-15 minutes later. It would do this for an hour or so then be fine. I called tech service multiple time. I got the company to send a tech out here (for free) to check everything from the junction box to our house. I spent a decent amount of time researching on the internet for possible causes. All of this amounted to exactly jack sh*t toward fixing the problem until a week or so ago when I figured it out. I was going to disconnect the network cable as part of the resetting routine when I grabbed the cable line going into the modem. I noticed it was loose by maybe an 1/8 to a 1/4 turn. I tightened it back up. Zero problems since then. That's right. All the time I worked on it, and I never thought to check the f*cking cable line. I have never been more sad about finding the solution to a problem in my life.

Wasnt that like question #2 they asked when you called for tech support? Did you check your cables? Is everything tight?
Seriously though, they asked about the network cable a bunch but never about the cable line. I think it being a new install made them think it was something more at the junction box or software rather than something in between.
First bombing in Beirut in like 4 years. And I should remember never to read the comments in articles, people have disgusting opinions about places they've never been and people they've never met.

Chico, my heart drops whenever I read of an event in Lebanon, especially Beirut. As I have people I care a great deal about in the city. I hope all of your people are safe, I have yet to hear from mine.

The local paper's website is rife with people like that. It used to get me mad, but now, I just get sad thinking about how many people have such a negative worldview.

I just get pissed knowing those f*cking neanderthals get to reproduce and mold young minds to think just as senselessly and disgustingly as their parents.

***Ugh it was in Ashrafiyeh...quack***
Yeah, my friends are all ok. They're close to Hamra so it wasnt by them. It was on her birthday though. So that makes for a good bday present.

One can always hope that they think their parents are nuts. I definitely have to hang up on one of mine regularly.
Looking forward to sleeping with the fishes tomorrow with the family. Will I actually be able to sleep with sharks swimming by, that's the question?
I slept with the fishes at Ripley's Aquarium. All I will say is that it is more peaceful than you might imagine. Also, they will tell you the lights dim like the sun going down until it simulates night. They are liars. The lights stayed on all night. I ended up tying my shirt around my eyes to block out the light.

True, but most kids take their parents words as gospel (which is expected, they're kids and don't know sh*t about sh*t). I know I did, I'm just lucky my parents are tolerant, kind people and not scumbags, I guess.

Kinky. Dave likes it in the dark and tied up. Not surprising.
So next month I won't have a mortgage payment bc im re-fying the place. And I plan on paying off some stuff with the cash etc... but Im sad bc there are all these amazeballs deals coming through on my coupon emails (i.e. Beats by Dre headphones for only $60?!) and I can't get them now bc it's not in the budget.
Does anyone have some Beats headphones? are they worth it? I want some quality noice cancelling ones for when Im flying. Im in the air so much, it'd be nice to listen to my music withOUT the sound of the mouth-breather next to me, the baby 4 rows away, or the Im-on-a-plane-lets-talk-the-ear-off-my-neighbor chatty dude across the aisle.
Now if we could only come up with SMELL cancelling NOSEphones.... damn that guy with his overbearing cologne getting into a tube with recycled air for 2 hours...

I read the comments section on an article about the Dalai Lama's visit to CT. Most were like "cool, wish I could see that." There's a few "lol get a job hippies" if not worse.
