Arizona is trying to pass a law that would make it impossible to restrict gun carry on public roads and sidewalks through and next to all public schools from Elementary to University. Basically the way they're trying to get around the public, administrative, student, parent, and police outcry every time they try to allow carry in schools.
You would think your job as an interim director of a fairly large institution within a public university would be to keep things running as smoothly as possible by rocking the boat as little as possible. Apparently not the case. The current interim director of the Student Unions appears to be going for the fire so many people that they have to hire him as the permanent director just to keep the whole building from pulling apart at the seams.
The previous interim director a few years ago went with the create as many new silly rules as possible and micromanage every department he could strategy.
In related news my indirect supervisor is now one of my favorite people in the Union and one that knows me and trusts me to run my little 7 student unit without interference. So I guess win for me at least. Shitty for the 10+ people who haven't had their contracts renewed.
There is a small hole at the bottom of my shirt. Its far enough down where its covering the top part of my pants. It's been there for a while now, but only now did the Mrs. actually notice it. That's how small.
She wants me to get rid of it, but I rather keep it. I only wear it to work anyway, and I work in a warehouse. I seen guys wear clothes with larger holes. (Also seen guys wear the same outfit every day of the week, but I digress.)

Keep or toss, what would you do?
How small is the hole?
It's now about ring finger in diameter, since the Mrs. was trying to rip the hole bigger.

I say you keep it, though the advice to pick your battles is wise. I'm just stubborn and cheap so I think it's dumb to throw a perfectly wearable shirt.
Is a ratty shirt really worth getting into a fight over?
No. I already tossed it.
I was just curious what others would do.
don't toss it! old t shirts are great to have lying around the house. applying stain wood pieces, cleaning up dirty stuff in the garage, washing/drying your car, chloroforming the neighbors when they get rowdy...
To expound on my middle of the night insomnia musings: I know it's not their song, but their cover of it is so magnificent and somehow even more manic than Nilsson's that I think it's my favorite song LCD Soundsystem has recorded.
The opening drums of "Ophelia" by The Lumineers are very similar to those in "Do I Wanna Know?" by Arctic Monkeys, and it fools me all the time at work.

Looking like i'm out for my usual summer fests this year. I tend to go to Roo and Newport Folk Fest but have come to the conclusion I'll have to skip both. Life and money and work and a bunch of other junk just getting in the way. I guess it's a good year to skip but I was really pumped about LCD and Tame Impala on the farm. Oh well. Will try to swing a Mountain Jam or Gov Ball ticket since it's cheaper and no travel issues/costs.
I've reached acceptance. Sucks but I'll just have to make sure I'm back next year.

I have not reached acceptance with you not being there.

It's taken me a while to really accept it as well. Part of the funk i've been in lately. Between 2005 and 2015 I've only missed 2010 but I guess it's a good year to miss...comparatively speaking. It really sucks but I've got way too many bills + a potential family trip in July that I need money for + the fact that I may be in Chicago until Thursday of Roo for a work trip (so would only really get Friday-Sunday anyway....and the hassle/cost of getting to and from Roo would lead to a bunch of stress and junk.
I wasn't even 100% sure I would be able to do last year until pretty late but this year's looking even more impossible. It's not the end of the world....it just sucks to miss out on both fests. Hopefully I can find a way to do something this summer (or even fall). So unfortunately...I will be missing out on headliners that are perfect for me and a handful of other solid shows I was going to check out. Saddest of all is not camping with inforooers and having brunch and all that fun stuff. But i'll be there in spirit.
This year looks like my break but next year I'll be coming full force.
