okay, I'm not at all as harsh on consequence of sound as some people are.. but jesus christ this paragraph really struck a nerve with me.
from father john misty's new album review:
Josh Tillman, the man behind the moniker, gained success as the harmonizing drummer for Fleet Foxes (which ended in disaster), but his solo career as J. Tillman was marked by the self-serioustones of For Emma, Forever Ago without all the “fun.” In a legendary act of self-mythologizing, Tillman took a journey down the West Coast and, propelled by copious hallucinogenics, created the Father John Misty persona. It was an affectation that perhaps began in farce, but soon found surprising depth, range, and success that Tillman’s solo work never achieved. consequenceofsound.net/2015/02/album-review-father-john-misty-i-love-you-honeybear/
ended in disaster? and what the hell does bon iver's debut album have to do with it?

They were saying that his previous work as J. Tillman was similar to Bon Iver and when he decided to be Father John Misty that changed. Although the new album sounds much more like Bon Iver than Fear Fun did.
Yeah. He even admits his J Tillman solo output had some issues. During his KEXP performance (I think), he joked that he knew he had a problem when audiences began to obviously prefer the between song banter over the actual songs themselves.

I mean, I kinda get that. but it's worded so poorly and just straight up feels like a name drop.

Anyone want my Bonnaroo 2014 poster? It's one of the promo ones like street team got to put up. I switched it out for the 2015 version today and wanted to check before I tossed it.

I know I just yelled at you elsewhere. But if we can start anew and turn over a new leaf, I want your poster.
Damn, between the last few days my custom title should be champion backpedaller.

Done. I think I have your address from Secret Santa on that email. I'll send it out well... let's call it eventually. I forget things easy.
