I think there's a general trend in pop heroes from literature. In other words, because the new generation of parents also fell in love with this guy.
This. The 50th anniversary was a few years ago, so it was probably featured in high school lit classes. Makes sense if those children are just startin to pop them out.
Top 5 boys names of 2014: Asher, Declan, Atticus, Finn, Oliver. My generation is terrible.*
*I kinda like Oliver
Why is Atticus suddenly making a comeback?
Also, how can you not like Finn?
I guess they're all technically better than the trends of absurd spelling, i.e. Fylycyty, or hilariously modified regular names, i.e. Glamber. We may have finally gotten past those.

We actually kicked around Finn for a bit before we realized we both know couples with newborns that name. Oliver wasn't off the table till I saw that list. The names we have right now aren't even in the top 100.

You hipster. I'm sure you're coming up with a name that will be huge in 5 years.
Beck's kids were at the show last night, so Druid looked up their names: Tuesday (girl) and Cosimo (boy). It may have been spelled Cozimo, I can't remember.
I want old names to come back to the rotation. Newborns named Agnes, Felix, Dolores, Clarence, and Ethel.
My great grandma passed a few years back she was 94 I think. Amazing woman, grew up in the Ozarks married off when she was 17. Lived from the Great Depression through the internet and the new millenium but all I will remember is a family photo. Oldest of 8 kids and their names were:
Nyla, Buford, Opal, Pony, Gertrude, Larold, Wilmer, and I can't remember the rest but 8 kids and they all got boned with names. Pony was the birth name btw.
Opal isn't bad! I'm intrigued by Pony.
My great-grandmother's name was Juanita. Her twin sister was named Rowena.
My paternal grandmother's name was Dolly Virginia. Her sister was named Midget.

I like all of those and the ones billy listed (except for Gertrude). My husband has a Juanita in his southern family. There is also an Asa and an Angus.
My family up here has Gracie Mae, Kelly Jo, and Tara Sue.
