I once got into a discussion with a co-worker long ago about how carbon dating doesn't prove anything because the devil could have made it to test our faith in the Bible.
This doesn't have anything to do specifically with your post, custeph, but it's so sad to me people have to use the word "believe" when it comes to evolution, climate change, etc.
I can so relate to custeph's response except substitute Tennessee for South Carolina. My favorite is when people "disprove" evolution by saying that they don't see any monkey men around thereby proving that they really don't grasp the concept of evolution.
Does it name the school anywhere? Because my 11 yr old niece goes to a small, religious private school here & I'd bet you that they have taken a test like this. On spring break, my SIL took her & my kids to a geology museum. My kids had a blast. As they were telling me about it, my niece came up to me & whispered "But they teach evolution." I kindly told her that I believe in evolution. She ran away crying.
OK, I made that last sentence up. But you should have seen the look she gave me.
Blue Ridge Christian Academy in Greer.
it is a little bit nuts here in the Deep South!! I am a Christian but what I believe in is a loving and merciful Jesus, and the grace of God. I mean, who says Genesis is literal? I don't think most Christians believe that Revelation is literal, but they freak out at the idea of evolution. and don't even get me started on the Leviticus-quoting homophobes and misogynists. oy!
I think evolution happened and is still happening, maybe God was the Big Bang, Jesus is real, and I love science. personally, I think science validates God because, quantum physics you guys.

everyone knows Al Gore invented climate change. just like the time he invented the Internet.

Try living in South Carolina for awhile.
Living in the suburban Scott Walker-loving areas during the 2010 election and 2011 recall was fun enough; I think I'll pass.
At least there it's just a lot of upper-middle class people not wanting to spend money on anything ever. Fortunately I don't really personally know any hardcore socially conservative people.
Was just caught doing some crazy chair stretch + chair dancing hybrid. Whoops.
Trying to pull your best Jlo huhh? Its ok my gf caught me glowsticking in my room alone in the dark. She dosnt understand I have to get my endurence up before Roo comes around. Cant just be bailing on the glowsticks halfway through a set. Need to build that cardio.

Lucky. I sometimes want to give most of my family one way tickets to South Carolina and hope they can't find their way back to New England.

Didn't want to make a whole thread for this: Nashville people, where is a quick place to stop Thursday evening between the airport and the farm to pick up sunscreen, liquor and cheap cigarettes? Does Target have all those things in TN? @ntellier85 wolfmanjesskrstphr

Target doesn't sell liquor or cigarettes. Liquor stores are the only place to buy liquor, but grocery stores will have beer.

As long as you are not real picky and do not want a huge selection there is a liquor store by the this Krogers near the airport. 2620 Elm Hill Pike, Nashville, TN 37214
If you want a better liquor store I would stop at Frugal McDougals 701 Division St Nashville, TN 37203. This is right next door to the Yazoo brewery who will probably throw a beer your way if you say you are out of town and Jesse sent you they close at eight though.

If you can make it to Frugal's, that's a great option. It's a great liquor store with high gravity beers, and it's next door to a very decent tobacco and beer store (They have to remain separate in Tennessee so it's nice having them right by each other).

Thanks dudes. I'm not sure how important getting the good stuff is since it'll all have to be in a can or plastic bottle anyway. Just wasn't sure what was sold where.

Frugals actually has a pretty respectable bonnaroo pile of cans available.

Exit 78B off 24 in M'boro. That A on the map above shows the general area I'm talking about.
Get off 24, go round the loop, cross over 24. At the first light take a left. There's a beer store and a liquor store not far up the right side. There's also an entrance to the Walmart supercenter and a tobacco shop right nearby. Pretty easy on and off 24 from there.

You can decant the good stuff into a plastic jug -- buy a gallon jug of springwater for about $.98 and empty it out and replace it with your likker of choice...
At my son's soccer games one mom per week makes "goodie bags" to hand out after the game. On Saturday his bag had glowsticks in there, and I took them out before he could see them.

Thanks. There looks like there's a whole bunch of stuff right around the airport, so my current plan is to get everything I need straight away then hightail it to the farm. I land at 5:40 and would ideally like to make it in time for Purity Ring at 9:15. We'll see if that happens.
