Well when they expect you to not have sex until you are married I guess they don't consider that knowledge important at a young age.
Maybe so, but do they really think kids won't try to fill in the blanks?
I think most religious people expect families to teach the stuff to their kids and not as part of a school course. But I'm talking out of my ass with no real evidence so.....

As a life long Texan you couldn't be any further from the truth. The only difference is most religious families would rather their children never learn about it. Probably the worst way to go about it too. My kids better learn this stuff at school, otherwise it'll be up to me to explain it to them and I don't want any part of that confusing lesson.

I feel like I need to step in here. Not ALL religious families are like this. Traditional Irish families are very religious......and they still f*ck like jack rabbits.

I know man. My Catholic friends taught me plenty growing up. But as for a Texan Baptist child, it's difficult to understand how the male weenie fits into the female weenie without some instruction.

Gotcha. What about what CKS said.....do kids try to fill in the blanks? Or is this the reason we get 16 year olds who think that you can't get pregnant if the girl is on top (you know.....gravity)?
My sex ed was somewhere between Flanzo and ITM. The fifth grade "you smell talk" followed by separate videos and a week long part of home ec or something in middle school.
And I didn't have sex til I was almost 19. So, unlike Flanz, real life experience wasn't a big help
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

At 12, I watched lots of Boy Meets World. I loved Topanga. I quickly figured out which blanks needed filling.
I think the main objective of a sex-ed class should obviously be to instruct kids about the scientific side of things, but also aid them in realizing the various results that can stem from it all. Without that lesson, kids often figure out the hard way that sex can indeed have consequences.

i think schools should teach the scientific part of sex but i think it is very important for parents to teach the social/emotional component of sex to their children.

I'm not sure if I'm emotionally capable of this logic. I was always sold on telling my potential son that his business was actually called a vagina just to Quack with him. I should probably take your advice instead.
Topanga Lawrence is a saint! Topanga Lawrence IS A SAINT!
Probably every boy that hit puberty in the late 90s/early aughts had a crush on Topanga. Every boy with some sense, that is. Watching Topanga might've been the first time I can remember being like "so...boobs are pretty f*ckin' cool."

She is still attractive. It just looks like maybe she had been out of the spotlight for awhile in that pic. We will see waht the Disney make-up and hair crew can do. I'll watch the show if only for her if she resembles this...
I see that they are doing a new Boy Meets World spinoff. Topanga is looking different these days.
That is a different woman, I refuse to believe that is Topanga. Topanga Lawrence never grew old; she remained that sweet, bookwormish, shy girl next door forever. FOR. EH. VUR.

You guys should all look into OWL for your children if/when you have them. It's a sexuality class that teaches all about relationships, sex, std/pregnancy prevention, emotional consequences, masturbation, gay/lesbian sex, gender rolls, and the way bodies work. Just in the last couple years we have started reaching out and offering it to the community. I'm not teaching this year but have for the previous 2 and will again next year. www.ucc.org/justice/sexuality-education/our-whole-lives-values-and.html
